I just found out that I am just short of 6 weeks pregnant and I am only 4 months out from my Bypass. I'm super scared about the nutritional issues that I will face with having to get in more calories. Please share with me your experience with your pregnancy and tell me what I should be doing to have good nutrition. I'm new to the whole pregnancy thing so anything will help.
Thanks

I was about 5 months out when I got pregnant.

Probably the most important thing will be to get labs done regularly.  My PCP did them about every month.  Might seem excessive, but I wanted to be sure that I was not deficient in anything because if I were then my baby probably would have been.

Your baby will take what he/she needs from you so you need to replenish.

My surgeon told me to keep my daily protein intake at about 100 grams. This was a little hard to do since I was so early out and the amount I could eat at one time was very small, but I managed and I gave birth to a small, but healthy, little boy.

This is a GREAT place for support and information.

Good luck and God Bless.

Maui Girl....
When did you have your baby, and were you able to loose weight again after you had him? I think that is one of the other worries I have about my weight loss.
Thanks for all the info and congrats on the baby.

I gave birth in May.  I can't remember exactly, but I lost about 20 lbs thru my pregnancy and when I got home from the hospital I was about 15 lbs lighter and weighed about 155ish.  I am currently 148 so lost a little more.

I just found out I am pregnant again and have already gained 2 lbs and I am only 6 1/2 weeks along so keeping my weight in check with this pregnancy will be harder I am sure.

Try not to worry too much.
