Body & Skin changes post-baby questions

So, I gained 35lbs in the pregnancy. At 6 week post-delivery, I've dropped 23lbs. YAY YAY

However, I honestly do not believe I'll EVER get back into my size 2 jeans. My butt seems to have popped out, I had a totally flat butt before this pregnancy, and my hips seem wider. Plus, I gained the majority of my weight right back to my abdomen. DAMN THOSE memory fat cells, and the little tiny, baby fat roll that was on my lower abdomen is about 5 times bigger and stretched back out. It took a few months after I hit goal for my skin to rebound and really shrink up, and I experienced body changes, fat redistribution for about a year after hitting goal. I'm wondering if it will be the same after losing the pregnancy weight???

My question is; Will my body EVER be the same again? This is not my first child, or csection, but I was fat with my first pregnancy and just kept getting even more fat after he arrived. I have a 13 yr old son and delivered via csection with him as well. It seems like my legs have shrunk, my upper arms did fill back out again, but they're shrinking by the week. BUT, this stubborn belly fat is hanging on, and my hips just are NOT going to allow my jeans to go back on.

Anyone have experience with this issue?

Yes dear, I remember when I had my first daughter and only had 7 pounds to go a month later. I tried to put on a pair of shorts that should have been maybe well a little snug with 7 pounds. Sheesh! I couldn't even get them up! Pregnancy changes your body, hips, waist and anything else it wishes to.

Here's the good news...you have a beautiful baby to enjoy, and eventually with time your body will do it's best to go back to normal. You are only six weeks after childbirth, give yourself time. You are doing great, and such an inspiration for so many of us newer losers. Thank you so much, I am not sure if you vets really know how much some of us live and breathe by the words of vets like yourself with success stories and no sugar coating.

Thank you for everything!

Thanks so much ! ! ! I'm just in panic-mode ha ha ha. Thank you so much for your kind words. I think it's fear-driven because I worked so hard to lose my weight, and kept it off that I'm paranoid I'll never get back to pre-baby status.

Ok, so no hold barred truth; I have 27 pairs of jeans in my closet that I'm waiting to slide back in to. And, I hate any type of spanx ! ! !

After I had my 3 year old, I was only 8lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight at my 6 week check-up and could not come close to fitting into my jeans. I gained an additional 12lbs over the next 1.5 years before getting strict with myself and loosing all the extra weight. I could fit into my size 8 jeans I was wearing before the pregnancy, but they felt snugger than before. Our bodies distribute the weight differently after having babies, but this don't mean you wont be able to get into your old jeans....it just means you will have to work extra hard to get in them!

On a side note, I've been wondering how you and baby have been?

Thanks bunches ! ! ! We've been doing pretty good. At the 4 week mark something weird happened with my breastmilk, she was nursing constantly, having blow out diarrhea, and major diaper ra****ried eliminating certain things from my diet, nothing worked, she was constantly screaming and never sleeping, and then on Thanksgiving we spent the afternoon at the ER because she broke out in hives from head to toe and the only thing they can blame it on is something I ate. It was a miserable week with her on prednisone and benadryl for the weekend. I continued to nurse her and when I say constantly, I'm not exaggerating. I'd nurse her for sometimes an hour, she'd nap for 30-40 minutes and wake up screaming with diarrhea and starving.

She dropped 7ounces in one week, and at 4 weeks she only weighed 3oz more than her birth weight. Her pediatrician switched her to soy formula, and for the first 2 days things settled down then the projectile spit up started. No matter how much I burped her, how much or how little or how often I fed her, she was spitting up. He had me add rice cereal to her bottles over the weekend to see if that would help, and it just made the spit up thicker and gross. He diagnosed her with protein and lactose sensitivity/intolerance and reflux. She was also doing this gagging, "cat with a hairball" thing, and I could totally relate because that's what it's like when I have reflux attacks when I sleep. So, he prescribed her the Alimentum(hypoallergenic) formula and Zantac. We started that last Monday, and her spit up is minimal, poopy diapers are normal, and she's just overall a different baby.

I bawled when he told me I had to stop nursing, but deep down that entire week, I knew something was severely wrong. No matter what I ate or drank, she was miserable, I was shoveling in food to keep my supply up, and pushing a gallon of water a day. Least to say with a sleeved stomach this was exhausting, but I did it. I still felt like a failure because I couldn't breastfeed even though I never wanted to do it. She made it easy, and latched immediately, we never struggled with latching, or her feedings. I was more angry that the option was taken away from me, and to some extent I still struggle with the emotions of not being able to nurse especially when she starts rooting and wanting to nurse.

She has to sleep reclined at an angle, and I can't lay her down for an hour after eating. BUT, she's happy, gaining weight (up to 9.5lbs), and sleeping better. She's on a schedule for the most part of eating every 3-4 hours. We're adjusting, and I'm doing a lot better emotionally.

Hope you and baby are doing well ! ! !

I can relate to you with the breastfeeding issue.  We had our problems too and he is now on formula only.  My issues weren't as large as yours,  but none the less, it's very hard to deal with the emotions when nursing don't work out as you hoped or planned!   I dealt with slow weight gain with my son (exact same thing happened with my 3 year old and he too went to bottles early on) and they had me nursing, pumping and supplementing when he was 2 weeks old.  Once I gave him a bottle, he wouldn't go back to the breast the 2nd time to finish the feedings which made it hard and I knew he more than likely wouldn't solely nurse.  After his feedings, he would take around 2 ounces of formula and I would only be able to pump out 1ounce.  After he was 4 weeks old, he wanted nothing to do with my breast and at that point, I stopped pumping and he wasn't nursing at each feedings which made it easy for my milk to dry up.  I hate that breastfeeding didn't work out and felt guilty about it, but now that it's been 3 weeks we both are doing good and I'm in a better state of mind about it!  He's sleeping around 6-8.5 hours during the night (so pretty much sleeps through the night) and eats around every 3 hours during the day.  Once I started formula feeding, his weight went up and last week he was around 9.5lbs!
