Keeping my hands and feet inside the ride until it comes to a full and complete stop
My partner and I are gearing up to start trying to conceive. We have been together for 6 years and talked about having a family, but I really never thought we would get here.
We finally purchased our magical baby goo right before Thanksgiving. Last monday I called to have it shipped from the Cryobank to the fertility center. They wanted it there before they would start addressing my infertility issues. I havent had a period in 380 days - likely due to the rapid weight loss. It wasnt spectacularly regular before surgery but was nonexistance starting about 8 months post op. I didnt miss it until I wanted to make my family.
So... I got the email telling me a tracking number and that the goods were shipped on Wednesday. Just like my body knew, Wednesday night I spontaniously started my period after not having one for 380 days. Now, I believe that everything happens for a reason. I think that the Universe is giving me a sign - telling me that this is a good time to do this.
I called my fertility team the next morning and they had me come in immediately for an US. Everything looks good and they started me on Menopur Injections on CD3. Today is CD5. So far, I havent had any crazy side effects. (thank goodness!)
My head is crazy spinning because this is going so quickly! I mean, hypothetically I could be inseminating somewhere between the 12th-14th of December and know if we are preggers around or just after New Years Day. HOLY SMOKES!
I am super excited... but I am going to just pull the lapbar down tight across my thighs and keep my hands and feet inside the ride until it comes to a full and complete stop.
Wish us luck!

Hey Hey! Look who's TTC!!! So excited for you both! After a year, I'm finally preggers! We did 3 cycles on our own with a local donor and vaginal insemination. Then 3 cycles with clomid and a local donor and IUI (doc taught wifey how to do IUI.) Then finally we did IVF in Oct and the bun is baking nicely in the oven!
OK... so are you doing IVF or IUI? I was on Menopur and Follistim for 3 wks prior to egg retrieval for my IVF. Made me bat shoot crazy! I was a hot emo mess! I was crying at everything.
I wish you the best of luck and please feel free to reach out to me if you ever wanna chat about it. It's not an easy ride... quite frankly, this past year has been the hardest emotionally, yet so very worth it when last week I see our lil one squirming around inside me on the ultrasound.

HI there pretty lady! How exciting for you both! You are well on your way :)
I am doing IUI at Kaisers Fertility Center. So far the Menopur has not made me crazy or emo, but I have only had three shots. I just have tonights and tomorrow's and then I will head back in for another US to see how things are progressing. Im on a pretty low dose though because they dont really know how fertile (or infertile) I am and dont want to have too many. I am excited about the possibilities and cautiously optimistic about how soon this may or may not happen. I feel like December is my month - the stars seem to be in alignment :)
Oh, I am so happy for you! thats great news today!
