I had the Mirena placed on November 3rd...and have had a steady period ever since!!! Today is day 27!!!!

Am I the only one that experienced this? OBGYN says its normal if I need to wear a pad for 2 months straight! ahhhh I might rip my hair out before I start losing it (literally lol).

You can have some spotting in the beginning. I had about 2 months of frequent spotting, then my period stopped altogether.

God grant me with the serenity to accept the things i cannot change ;  Courage to change the things that i can ;  and the wisdom to know the difference!!!

I think I bled for at least 6 weeks with light and heavy flow while my body adjusted to the iud. then I had patches of spotting every two weeks almost the entire 1st yr. I had it taken out after 1.5yrs cause I couldn't take the infrequency of my cycles! they did get lighter and the cramping was very minimal but still.

I had Mirena placed on March 1, 2011 before my RNY surgery and I bleed everyday heavy bleeding since the day it was placed.  I just recently had it removed on December 5, 2011.  My ob/gyn had an ultrasound done and found the my IUD had came down towards my cervix and was not in it's proper place.  After my mirena was removed I bleed for two days and my bleeding has stopped.  So I am waiting to see if I return to a regular cycle, but I bleed every day and my ob/gyn kept telling me it would stop or slow down after six months. That did not happen to me at all.  I had a period constantly, with the exception of 4 days out of a month in which I would have spotting.  My IUD became imbedded in my uterine muscle because it change positions.  But I feel so much better now that it is out.
