Grrrrr!
So, last night about 9 or so, my usual nightly contractions started to really pick up. They were getting really intense and regular. At about 11, I decided to take a shower and see if I could get some rest (they were still about 10-15 min apart at this point). I slept for about 2 hours until the pain woke me up. They were every 9 minutes for at least an hour and soon progressed to every six minutes. I should add that since I've had a previous c-section (I'm hoping for a VBAC) my doc wants me to call if I have regular contractions every 10 min for an hour. Anyway, I decided to get up and fold a load of laundry that I had in the dryer and watch some TV while I waited for them to get strong enough to make me feel like it was worth dragging my mom out of bed (to come be with my 2yo). At this point, at least half were strong enough to stop me in my tracks and have to breathe through them, I wanted them to all be that strong before I called. By 5:30 when Hubby's alarm went off they were actually starting to fade in intensity and I decided to try to get some sleep again. I told him to shower and get ready for work and I'd make a decision by the time he had to leave at 6:45. Now here I am, many hours later, tired, pissed off, and still no baby! The contractions are pretty mild and infrequent now. Seriously, WTF!!!! If they don't pick back up and yield a baby today, I'm going to hurt someone!
I remember all too well the frustration of this! When hubby gets home, have sex and elevate your hips. Hopefully the prostraglandin makes things pick up and that baby will come out! After 2-3 days of what you are describing contraction-wise I did that and took a 2 hour nap and woke up in full on active labor! Good luck!
Oh girl I feel for you! When is your next doc appt? If it's soon, have your doc strip your membranes.....that seemed to work for me! When she checked me I was dilated to 3 and she stretched me to 3.5. It wasn't long after and I started to feel contractions that finally got stronger where I knew I was in labor. I can't wait to hear your birth story real soon! Maybe your baby will be born on his/her due date like mine was!
My next appointment is tomorrow. Since I'm doing the VBAC it is really not advised to do anything to push things along as that tends to up some of the risks associated with them. Basically, I just have to be patient. I'm really thinking tonight things will get serious again and we'll be having this baby on its due date. If not, I need to have the conversation with my doctor about when I'm willing to schedule a c-section in case I don't go into labor on my own soon. I'm praying for tonight! My hubby works out of town a lot and today was his last day, so he is officially on paternity leave until at least Thanksgiving. At least having him here is one less thing to stress over. Guess my babies just like it in there!
