I have yet to find a single shred of evidence that actually proves that ketosis is dangerous during pregnancy. I was likely in ketosis for much of my first trimester - I avoid almost all grains, sweets, starchy veggies, and only eat a little bit of fruit. Lots of moms are unintentionally in ketosis throughout pregnancy if they have severe morning sickness, and their babies turn out fine. Women had babies in civilizations without access to fruits, veggies, or grains for thousands of years (think Inuits), and their babies were fine as well.
If it's specifically WEIGHT you're worried about, ketosis does not automatically equate to weight loss. The body can be in ketosis and still maintain weight - it's about balance. Many women lose weight in the first trimester for whatever reason (food aversions, vomiting, eating healthier for pregnancy, etc.), and it's fine. I lost about 12 pounds in my first trimester, and no one (PCP, 2 different OB practices) was concerned. The only time I would be concerned is if you start out underweight at the beginning of the pregnancy.
