Almost 7 months out, just found out Im preg!
Hey guys. Quick on my back story. Got married in 2005, took me almost 3 yrs to conceive my daughter who is 3 1/2 now. Ever since having her, been TTC for #2, so over 3 yrs with no success. Had RNY in April of this yr, condom broke this time and I literally this morning peed on a stick and it was a positive. My period is due Friday(the 11th), or Saturday(the 12), and I took a digital test today(the 7th) and after waiting for the stupid hour glass which seemed like forever, it said PREGNANT. Then, not believing my eyes I immediately took another test(it was done in a cup) and got a LIGHT but DEFINITELY there 2nd line.
I lost almost 80 pounds so far. Pre op diet I was 236, at surgery I went in at 225, today Im 156. My periods have never been regular before surgery. They used to be like 60, 40, 90 days but now 28 on the dot.
I dont get sick much anymore, eat pretty much everything except steak. Of course I was super excited but nervous and still am. I have questions about us using sweetener, vitamins and others. I heard we're also going to be high risk. fyi, I had a very healthy, no problem pregnancy with my daughter.
Please tell me everything will be ok!!!

Hi, Deep breathes it will be just fine.
I found out at 7 months that I was expecting too. So I now how nerve wracking it is to see that 2nd line on the stick. Exciting and terrifying all at once. I would suggest that if you are seeing your surgeon for follow-up care to make an apt with them to let him/her know and get info on what they will want you to do regarding pregnancy care. also make an ob/gyn apt and make sure they are know how to treat an RNY pregnancy, such as monitering your labs a little closer and any extra testing they may need to do.
I am 11wks and happy to report that I have a perfectly healthy little baby that is growing right on target.
Congrats and no worries.

Congrats! You do not have to be high risk. Though if you have a nervous OB you might get the label. Either way don't let it stress you. It just means you get some extra monitoring like more U/S to check for growth. It was nice seeing my little Liam every 4-6 weeks but I had other tests that made me high risk.

I had lap band and found out I was pregnant just after my 9 month anniversary, it was an opps as well. I am currently 34 week (well on Thursday) with a HEALTHY baby boy. I have not had any problems so far and didn't even have GD this time! Granted I know I don't have absortion problems like RNY patients but everything has been perfect so far. Congrats to you and I am wishing you a VERY healthy and happy 9 months!
