MIRENA tomorrow...any suggestions?

Going to my gyno tomorrow for insertion of Mirena!

Any advice / suggestions ?

Should I take a pain pill BEFORE I go there? I hear there are severe cramps afterwards?

its kinda pinches when they put it in and I dont remember the cramps being that bad at least not any more than regular menstral cramps. make sure you buy some extra kotex cause you may have a few weeks of bleeding while your body adjusts. um other that that theres not much else. other than the peace of mind aspect Its not for me and I wouldnt do it again but some women love it and never had any problems. Just one of those things where you never know till you have it. good luck and its not that bad

 I took tylenol after.
The cramps where bad but not insane. I didn't even take the day off of work (receptionist).

Then, I got my period for 2.5 months. JOY.

Its not bad. My gyno offered a high dosage ibprofen to me when I had mine and that was enough for me. Just be aware that your period might be "off" for a while. I had Paragard before mirena and my period was very regular.. now its just whenever lol. Good Luck!

Mine hurt like a mofo, but I got the Paraguard.  I'd take something before, but that's just me :D

I had mine put in and honestly it was painful...cramping when they went thru my cervix..I should have taken something but didn't...afterward I took a tylenol with codeine and was fine...I suppose I could have just done the tylenol but Im a weenie..Now when I had it taken out it was painless..and I was worried. I had it in for 3 years..but really I didn't even hardly notice it being removed. My period was weird for awhile but then after that I had it regular, once a month but only for two days...which was kindof nice..:)

Not to discourage you BUT... Mine slipped... i had gotten it 1 year prior to getting the lap band and lo and behold with all the wl it practically came out. lol I'm 14 weeks preggo!!!
