Baby is 2 weeks old!
I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since I gave birth. Sabrina is doing well and gaining weight finally! At her first well visit, she had not gained or lost weight and I had to bring her in yesterday for a weigh in. She weighed 6.3lbs at birth, and left the hosptial at 5.8lbs and was the same weight last week. This week...7.4lbs! Woohoo! Her cheeks are chubby now and her thighs are filling in. She eats every 2 hours and is sleeping most of the time, though I was having trouble getting her to sleep in her bassinet or crib. She would only sleep with me.
My mom took us to her weigh in and then convinced me to allow her to take her to my sister's dentist appointment. I used to go to the dentist until I graduated college and got a job and he still keeps tabs on me. I thought it was a good idea since I could get a few hours sleep. My stepdad called and asked if it was ok for Sabrina to spend the night because he felt I needed more rest. My husband is a full time student at a professional school and is in the throws of midterms. Since he has to study and be alert for tests, I've been taking care of her on my own. His last midterm is tomorrow and he be more help at that point. I was really aprehensive because 1) my mom is not working because she quit her job, but my stepdad has to be up bright and early, so I didn't want him to be sleep deprived and 2) both he and my mom have raised their kids and I didn't want them to feel obligated to take her because my husband hasn't been able to. My stepdad stated that he and my mom really wanted to take her and to not feel bad about it. After much persuasion, I let her stay the night.
I didn't realize how exhausted I was until I woke up this morning. It felt great to get a full nights sleep and get a reboot. My mom brought her back this afternoon, fully fed, changed, bathed and asleep. She slept 2 hours before she woke for her meal, then the most amazing thing happened. After I fed her, I put her in her bassinet and she slept in it! For 2 hours! I was so thrilled! Maybe staying with Grandma and Grandpa was what she needed .
That is my update for now! Once I get some more pics I will post!

Your 1st paragraph sounds like my 9 day old regarding her not gaining weight or wanting to sleep in her bed. Makes it tough! It sounds like your bottle feeding, so at least you could see how much she was getting....I'm nursing, so not sure about my lil man. I have an at home appt for him tomorrow and hopefully he has gained enough weight that I don't have to keep going back to have it checked!
How great it must feel to have a full nights rest! Lucky girl!
