How far out from surgery were you when you found out?
Most bariatric surgeons suggest waiting to START TT****il 18-24 months post op. That will give your "new" body time to heal, release the excess weight, and then stablize. Some women do get pregnant within the first year, but it's not recommended. I'm 41 and I didn't start TT****il 15 mos post op (got early approval from my surgeon). Now I'm 26 months post op and I just found out 2 days ago that I'm pregnant.
I found out I was pregnant a day after my 9 month anniversary. I am currently 33 weeks with a HEALTHY baby boy. I only made it to 29w 6d with my first. I also don't have GD this time the only issue is blood pressure which I have had issues with for a long time. Oh we were not trying, we used condoms but only like 99% of the time so we got pregnant during that 1% of time!

I had my RNY in April of 2010 and got pregnant in September of 2010 so 5 months. Was not planning on it happening so soon, but thankfully everything turned out ok. Gave birth to a tiny but healthy baby boy in May. It is true that some of use become very fertile after surgery and once we start losing weight so be extra careful.
