Ovulation test and question....
Okay, this is my first month off of the Nuva ring. Today is day 21 of a 32 day cycle.
I took an ovulation test on 10/26 no second line, 10/27 and got a second line, took another test 10/28 it was no second like but i just realized I didn't wait the 3 minutes before I threw it away... oops, so that test was inconclusive. Took the last test today 10/30 and got a second line again.
I have been tracking my cycles on mymonthlycycles.com for over 2 years, and it predicted my ovulation day on 10/29.
So my question is it possible to be getting positive ovulation tests on 10/26-10/30?
Did I happen to just start testing right on time?
Can I say that I ovulated at some time this week?
this is all too confusing, much help is needed.
Thanks!

The test picks up when you START releasing the hormone that coincides with ovulation. The closer to ovulation the more hormone in your system. Then after ovulation it starts to taper off. You ovulated somewhere in that window. The 29th is probably accurate.
As far as getting pregnant- when the line starts to show up you are gearing up for ovulation. We BD'd for the days around the double line and twice on the actual day. So like once on the 27th, once on the 28th, twice on the 29th, and once on the 30th. I was 37years old and first time out I got a BFP using this system. Most doctors would say that's overkill but it worked for us.
To save money you might want to save your predictor sticks for the week around ovulation...like three days prior and three days after. (This is after you know your cyle for sure)
I also did an oral basal body temp and it coincided with the predictors as well. With two sources of data I knew for certain where my cycle was.
Hope this helps!

Actually OPKs are different than HPTs - a line isn't just a line. With ovulation tests, you need the 2nd line to be as dark or darker than the control line for it to be considered a positive test. Most of us have the ovulation hormone in our bodies at all times, I would always get at least a faint 2nd line, even a few days before my period came.
I highly recommend temping in conjunction with using OPKs, not just for timing sex properly (temping will only tell you after you've ovulated that you did) but to also know how long your luteal phase is (time from ovulation to period starting) so you know when to start taking pregnancy tests. If you have any questions feel free to PM me :)
