RE Appointment Tomorrow
well the first day they'll probably take blood and just talk. they asked me to come in at the begining of my cycle (when AF comes) and they did an ultrasound then. then they had me come back mid cycle (ovulation) when i went they did an ultrasound and then they took a sample of my cervical musus to view under a microscope. they wanna see if you're ovulating properly and if follicle are forming and such.
as far as questions to ask, can't think of any off the top of my head. but you should do fine! good luck! can't wait to hear all about it!

In the medical community, being over 35 puts us in a geriatric state for trying to have a baby. I went in when I was 36 to see if I'd be ok with trying to conceive. I didn't want to find out after I was already pregnant that things weren't ok with my body. My RE went over statistics for birth defects and such. Then he had the nurse do a blood draw. He tested my hormone levels to make sure I was ovulating properly and that I had the right amount of hormones in my system. Then he did a sonogram to check out my ovaries and uterus. He looked at my follicles and ovaries and said I still had lots of reproductive time ahead of me. He checked out my uterus to make sure there wasn't a mass or anything out of the ordinary. I left with a clean bill of health. He said I needed to start trying and that he wouldn't wait over 6 months or so. Within two months I was back looking at my 5 week old fetus. He checked for a heart rate and that the structures surrounding the baby looked good. My little guy is now 9 months old. So I guess the dr was right that my body was ok with having another baby.

Hey Victoria,
By the time you read this I'm sure you've already been to your 1st appt with the RE. Please let us know how you're doing. The beginning is just tests and the doc gives you statistics and options. PM me and I'll talk you through the whole thing. Cuz you know I'm knee deep in all of it right now.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions and support!
I posted this on the TTC post, but here is what happened:
Well we are full steam ahead after AF shows up this cycle (which should be this weekend). We met with the doctor, talk about a lot (my head is still spinning), pee'd in a cup- both of us, I had an internal ultrasound- she said everything looked good. Then we both went to have labs drawn- I had 16 vials and DH had only 14!! And yes we had to pee in a cup, again! I have to call on the first day of AF to set up time for FSH and then will start Clomid on day 5-9 then have an ultrasound, followed up by a HSG and then a Hysterscopy with biopsy. DH has to do a SA and go to see a urologist, since he does have an ED problem. My insurance will cover 1 month of treatments, but after that we are self-pay- so I really don't know what we are going to do. I really don't want to have to dive into our saving for this but if we have to we have to. I hope this first month will jump start something!!
