Just wondering ...anyone ever heard of this..my baby is 6 months old and I stopped nursing  about 6 weeks after she was born.  I took a both tonite and noticed that my left breast was "leaking"  So I checked it and when I squeezed, ALOT of milk came out....

And another one....after I stopped nursing I gained about 18lbs..can't take it off...anyone????? Ideas!!!!

The leaking is not that unusual.  My aunt went for a mamo recently and had milk come rocketing out of her breast when they squeezed it in the machine... her youngest is 16.  I gained a lot of weight while I was nursing, so no advice there.  It was actually when I decided to have surgery.  Good luck!

Well I am new to this baby thing..but in recent times I had 3 of my sister in laws give birth and 2 of them decided to breast feed..they are super thin.and the one that didn't is kind of big...although non of them are big less than 150 lbs..there is a difference... but I guess every body is different.. but to take weight off I usually add 15 mins. in the morning of walking and 15 mins at night.. and thats easy for me.. I hope it works for you.. :)

Hi there!  Firstly, congrats on your new baby! :)

I too nursed my newborn (now 4 months) for as long as I could which was about 2 months, and then momma ran outta the goods....but during those 2 months, I swear I have never been so hungry in my life!!  But my doctors told me I had to eat to keep supply up, and I did eat, but my production just didn't revive.

While I was breastfeeding, I was losing weight, while trying to increase calories.  I lost about 7 pounds in the first couple of weeks, but since I've stopped nursing, my weight won't budge at all.  I've modified calories and increased protein, I walk my DD everyday...and nada, nothing, zip.  I'm back at work too, more active in the office and still nothing.

I'm thinking I need to get back into a formal workout routine, with light weight training, but with a newborn (and a hubby that works 3rd shift - I'm all by myself every night) and working fulltime during the day....trying to find that few minutes to workout has been a struggle in establishing a routine.  And of course, I am not focusing on myself even remotely as much as I do my daughter.  But my doctors say it's normal and can take up to 10 months or longer for my body to recover and get back to some sense of normal.  So I'm doing what I can. :)

I am definitely not sitting here making excuses at all!!  I'm motivated and determined in finding that balance and new way now that my little angel is in the picture.  :)  I've even looked into the babybootcamp thing, you can bring baby with you, lol.

If anyone has a story to share about postpartum weight loss, I would be soooo grateful to hear your story too!

Good luck mzicuis!

I was only able to nurse for a short time but I amin a similar situation. My hubby works 2nd shift so DD and I are on our own in the evenings. She is a crazy rambuctious 17 month old lol and I still find it almost impossible to get formal exercise in. I have a 1 hour commute, so by the time I get home at night it is 5:30 - 6 then it's making dinner and enjoying every moment I can with Amelia before 8am bedtime. I am up at 5:15 so I am usually in bed around 9 myself. I try to walk with Amelia whenever it is nice out. It's tough!!

I completely sympathize!  There are not enough hours in a day!!

:)

I'm really glad to hear that I'm not alone in the trying to find balance.  Please keep me posted on how you are doing and if you have any tips/tricks. :)

*hugs*
