I love Amelia Noel.

IMHO- Kelby, never heard that name before, sounds a bit feminine to me and could get confused with Kelsey, what about Owen Kelby

I like Amelia too, but I have to agree that Kelby sounds a bit feminine. Androgynous names are in style right now, so that might not be a big deal. I just think androgynous names tend to be a little easier for girls to deal with when they are older than they are for boys. I like the name Owen a lot though.

Our daughters name is Daisy Grace... she is named after my husbands grandmother whom passed 2 weeks before she was born. We always knew we would have her namesake.

Owen is my husbands middle name... he wanted Archer Owen and I vetoed that real quick... did not like Archer at all... I know Kelby could be either a boy or a girl name and was not sure how I felt about that at first... but the more we talk about it the more I like it. I am in love with the name Amelia Noel... very different...
I could not do Kelsy... makes me think of Kelsy Grammer... yuck... LOL

Please don't think I was suggesting Kelsy- makes me think of Kelsy Grammar too.... ditto to your yuck! LOL

As far as names that start with KEL- I was going to suggest- Kellen (makes me think of Kellen Lutz) or Kelton, but not sure about those names with the middle being Owen?

Oh no... I did not think you were..

Owen is def the middle... we don't want it as a first... we will most likely stick with Kelby... just wanted opinions on it.

I really like Amelia Noel, it flows so well and just has a nice ring to it. Very pretty.
I am so-so on Kelby, but do like Owen.
Then again, your child, your choice, so if you love it, go for it, ours are just opinions.

Absolutely your child and your choice! I read a book called "The Baby Name Wizard: A Magical Method for Finding the Perfect Name for Your Baby". One of the sentences in the book really stood out to me that what other people think really does matter. That doesn't mean that we name our kid what other people want us to, but there were a couple names we ran by people that pretty much everyone wrinkled their nose to. I don't want my kid to grow up with that kind of name. My hubby & I really like the name Penelope, but pretty much everyone responded poorly to it so we aren't choosing that if we have a little girl.

One thing I really like about the book is that it tells you names that go well with other sibling names. What's really funny is that Penelope is listed as a good sibling name for Lorelai (our daughter's name). Kinda funny...

I don't think Kelby is bad at all, I want to make sure you know that. I don't think it is a name that a little boy would made fun of for. I am just personally not a huge fan of androgynous names.
Most people like them (0: So, I know that you didn't need this dissertation from me, I just looked back at my post and didn't want you tho think I thought the name was horrible or anything. Good luck!
