Hello Ladies,
Thanks to all of you *****plied to my "traveling with a 5 month old" post.
My cousin just came from California and her stroller was damaged on the plane. The airline tried to cover it up by taping it... uhhgg you pay all that money to fly and this......
Anyone know of a way to "protect" your stroller when it's gets checked at the gate?

Unfortunately there is little that can be done. Gate checking is a better bet then checking at ticket counter because at least it is going in last and not in the midst and madness of all the other luggage. They do have canvas or plastic stroller bags I have seen before but that is an added expense and time to get it in and out of the bag at the gate. The stoller you are taking, is it part of your travel system, where the car seat will click into it? If not, and that is not the one you need, you may be better of just buying a cheaper stroller to use for the trip. I have traveled quite a bit with my son to include interntational flights and although I loved the bigger stroller for all the room and what not in the end I ended up getting a separate one for travel.
