you know what i heard today?

 not really pregnancy related but i just had to share this.

i was at my great uncle's funeral today and i saw a lot of family i haven't seen in years and some i haven't seen in months. everyone was saying how amazing i look. some say they hardly recognized me. some said i look totally diff. everyone said i look great.

mind you, i'm not skinny. i'm 5'0 and 170lbs. but this is the lowest i've weighed since about 16yrs old. and i look damn good. and worlds away from what i used to look like. its always the older women who make the worst comments. they have no filter or they're so old they don't realize what they're saying is offensive. one of my older great aunts says to someone right in front of me (in spanish) "look at her, she looks so pretty now. she's gonna look even better too. once she starts exercising." umm..excuse me? jesus christ. where do these people get the nerve?

fuuuuuuuuuuuck YOU. sheesh.

look, would i like to lose more, yes. will i lose more over time, yes i'd like to think so little by little. but right now i'm just maintaning. and if this is as skinny as i ever get i'm very fine with that. because i lost 90lbs and i look damn good. and i'm healthy. and i'm strong. could i be more athletic, sure. and thats something i have to work on. but i'm never gonna be your idea of skinny. i may never have a flat tummy and wear a bikini. and i'm fine with that. i hate when ppl put their **** on me. i wanted to say to her "actually i will be gaining weight soon. i'm trying to get pregnant". i wonder how much **** ppl will give me when i'm pregnant. they'll probably treat me like a WLS failure. ugh family. why is it always the fat out of shape ones who are the most judgmental?

Old people suck!  I had a friend once with this gaggle of *****y great aunts.  They were giving her a hard time everytime someone got married or had a baby with comments like "when is it going to be your turn" or "if you just put in a little effort, this could be you".... eventually when they were all at a funeral she was like "when is it going to be your turn", lol... that shut them up for sure!  They're just jealous cause you're still young and good looking!  God, I never want to get old!

My husband has an aunt who is 88 or so, and she's a *****  I'm sorry, I don't say that about many people in general let alone old ladies but she is.  I'm 5'10' my lowest weight since WLS was 178, I put on 10 pounds and than stabilized and she was first to commen****ch out you don't get big again....   I sooooo wanted to tell her to go to hell!

 ha! you see what i mean? shee****s a totaly diff mentality. did they always just say **** like that in their time? i dunno. oh no i didn't let it get to me. i was like...are you serious? it was rude. to assume i don't excercise and to totally discount all my work because i'm not her ideal of skinny. but it was a short lived annoyance. now i just laugh about it. crazy old lady. crazy old ladies say the darnest things. i should write a book with what i've heard!

I work with the elderly and I once had a resident say to me when I was bigger, " how much do you weigh"? I just said, " probably more than I should" and walked away, one of the other workers corrected her behaviour, but I totally understand the missing filter thing.
Never mind the old ladies, just keep truckin and doing the great things your doing.

Im sorry that she said such a thing. You are very Pretty and the only person who you need to keep happy is You and your family. Everyone doesnt matter and good for you for not taking it personal. I know i would have gone off on her. My I put a new picture of me on FB and my mother in law said looks like youve gotten a little bigger. I told her yea my chest is bigger and my belly is getting bigger but as far as weight iv only put 4 pounds on since i got prego. Im 20 weeks along now my DR is very happy with that since the rest of it should be all baby.
