First Ultrasound

I had my first ultrasound yesterday at a free pregnancy clinic and they had a hard time getting a clear picture. Luckily they were able to see a steady heartbeat which measured to be 165 but they couldn't see well enough to measure the length. I thought that was weird cause it was a vaginal ultrasound. She said she tried to measure what she thought was the baby but wasn't positive and it measured to be 8 weeks and I thought I was 7 weeks. I made an appointment with a real OB, the one from my previous daughter in a couple weeks so hopefully they won't have any issues seeing anything. Has anyone had anything similar happen to them? I'm hoping all is fine and it was just a crappy machine.

Most likely a cheap machine is the cause.  It's reassuring they could see and measure the heartbeat!!

Your very early in your pregnancy so that could be why.  It could be that it's a crappy machine or the tech was fairly new or not that well trained.  At only 7 weeks pregnant, it's a great sign they could see a steady heartbeat!  Don't stress yourself over it!  Sounds positive to me!

I'm wondering if she wasn't that well trained too, cause she kept trying to get a clearer picutre, turning the wand this way and that. You could see the baby but couldn't tell exactly where it began and ended cause of the fuzziness. You're right, I'm not going to stress over it. I think it's fine.

I would say not a good machine or to early I had one around that time and was hard to do when so tiny but mine measure eight weeks and I was eight weeks.

I've had early ultrasounds before but never at this place, so I wonder if it's a combination of an old machine and the fact that it was so early.

I'd think older machine. It's good they found a strong hb though! I had my first at 8 weeks, it was vaginal and they use the newest machines so they got good pic.
Hopefully you'll get a better one! I'm sure everything's fine and since there's a good hb I wouldn't worry to much! YAY for seeing that little flutter for the first time!
