Loooooong Night!
Every evening since about 20 weeks I have had BH, they have become a normal part of my night. I usually have some water or a gatorade and they go away. Last night however, they were much more intense than usual (still not painful, just intense) and they were coming every 3 min like clock work (I can't usually time them, normally it is just a few here and there). I drank some water... they continued. After another hour of them being this regular, I decided I'd better call the doc just in case (although I was pretty sure I was not in labor and didn't want to drag my husband to the hospital at midnight on a weeknight for nothing). Doc said, drink some more water and give it another hour, go in if they don't subside. I had a 20oz gatorade and took a hot bath... contractions continued, but at this point I had stopped timing them. By now it was like 2am and I really didn't want to sound all the alarms so I decided to go to bed unless my water broke. The contractions kept up to some degree all night. Today I feel like I wa**** by a mac truck and I'm still a little crampy plus my back aches. I really just wish labor could be as cut and dry as it is on TV! You know, a huge gush of water, one massive contraction and half a scene later the baby is here, lol, if only! Looks like it could be a very long six weeks if this keeps up!
If you were having contractions all night long and weren't able to get much, if any sleep....I would call your doctors office if you haven't done so already! It sounds like this is your 1st child and sometimes your 1st labor can drag on for quite some time (couple of days).....so you could very well be in labor. I would call your doctor asap and see what they say.....I'm thinking they will have you go to L&D to be checked out!
Not my first, which is exactly why I don't want to run to L&D for every little thing. I basically have the attitude that if it is labor it will get worse and I'll know... if not it will eventually go away. I did call the doctor last night and he was pretty unconcerned, so I'm just going to wait things out.
