Do I avoid trying to get pregnant this month?

My first child has his birthday in July because he was conceived in October. We're trying to get pregnant now (this will be about the 3rd month), but if I get pregnant this month, it will mean another July baby. On the one hand, it might be kind of nice. On the other hand, planning 2 birthdays every July! Dealing with sibling jealousies when they get older!
Do any of you have children with very close birthdays? Would you suggest avoiding it, or is it OK?

My brother and I are both August babies, in fact our birthdays are the 26th and 28th.  We never had an issue growing up.  We always shared a family party, but my mom always made sure we had separate cakes, and separate friends parties.  Our individual days were always very special.

I don't have kids with birthdays close together, but my oldest son was born a day after his uncle and 12 days before Christmas and our wedding anniversary is 3 days before his birthday. We haven't had any problems there! My daughter's birthday is right in between my mom's and her dad's (March 16,17 & 18).....again, no issues there. Finally, my sister's and my birthday are 5 days apart and it never bothered me growing up. I can't speak for my mom on the issues with planning birthdays and cost and such....but like I said, I never had a problem with it and I don't think my sister did either!

My older sisters and i all have the same b-day  3 years apart (they are twins)......it sucked when be became older around 9-10.  we all got separate cakes but we all got the same things just different colors.....not fun.....i swore i would never make my kids share a b-day party but guess what my kids b-days are less than 2 wks apart and this year they both wanted pool partys $120 for 2 hours (we had it our pool last year what a mess to clean up) so they shared thier party this year.  It worked out great i think with them being boy/girl it was much better.  However next year they both told me they wanted their own party.  so once and a while a shared party would be nice for them...i guess....it was crazy for mom but nice to get it over with all at once.   Oh just an end note my sisters and i LOVE having the same b-day as adults...we make a day of it and enjoy each other.  Good luck with TTC.

I struggled with the same question when TTC this baby. I decided to go ahead and try with the mentality - whatever is meant to be is what will happen anyway...Well we got pregnant that month and now this baby is due the same day Nolan was due. She is due January 29th and he was born on the 31st. I am a twin and my only other sibling was born the day before our 3rd birthday (these birthdays ALSO in January!). It's a busy month, but I think the important thing is making each individual child feel special. Good luck with TTC and your decision about trying this month!

We didn't have any problems when growing up at all, it was nice we always had a big party sometimes for all 3 of us, and sometimes seperate family/friend parties as we got older.
Our birthdays are 9/8/82, 9/7/84, and 9/6/85.

I think it is so cute some of the things parents worry about. (not knocking you, I am the biggest "what iffer I know. :) Good Luck!

My sisters have birthdays in June (6th and 18th) I dont think it ever bothered them they usually each got a big bday party..
My bday is dec 15 so only ten days away from christmas I always felt a little robbed cause I got alot of combo christmas/bday gifts and small parties cause everyone was busy with Christmas stuff. oh well..
My 2nd was actaully born on his Grandmas bday (Oct 20) and it was funny cause I had made a little joke to my hubby the night before (was having braxtons) that this baby better not be born on her bday cause we will never hear the end of it from her (kinda a monster in law) sure enough he was born the next day. she has graciously told me that she will work her bday plans around our party plans cause its more important for him to have a good bday.
This little sweet pea is due in May which is shared by my brother and sister in-law so we shall see.. its gunna be a busy month :)

Thanks for all the input! It reinforces my gut feeling of "whatever happens, happens." So I guess we 'll just keep doing what we're doing!

i would still try.  we we NOT going to try for a baby june-august 2009 because then we would have a spring baby and that's DH's busiest time of year.  Well we got pregnant and Sage was born in April, wouldn't wnt it any other way.
