I am serously RAGING right now! the nerve of those Drs telling those poor women that they have to lose weight or no IVF!!! And to make the cut off as rediculous as 30-35 bmi.. Idk if this is just preggo hormones but I am uber pissed about that!! my bmi is 31 yet I am 165lbs wear a size 8 and have never had a comorbidiy but according to them I would be "too high of a risk" for IFV.. WHAT?!?! I had two beautifully perfect pregnancies when I was well over 250lbs with virtually zero complications to me or my babies because of my weight!! ARG!!! How dare they crush an already broken heart!! makes me want to cry :(

everyone knows that people at a more normal weight are healthier... produce healthier babies.. and have safer pregnancies.... also over weight people ARE less fertile... so why not have them try to lose weight before making the huge jump to ivf? ....makes sense to me....

I agree.  i get it, even though I don't really like it.

I was denied IVF because of my weight.....yet I know of oter women who were my size who were given it...because they were in their late forties and didn't have "time" to lose wieght. Menopause has struck every woman in my family on my mother's in the 36-38 year range. I am now 36, but I guess family history didn't mean anything. I got my surgery 4 days before my 36th birthday. With the 18-month waiting period it is pretty much game over for me. Hubby also has issues so IVF was the onyl option. So if you are overweight and need help and are considering a gastric bypass. GET ON THE LIST ASAP.

I am lucky that one of my three babies made it and I am so grateful to have him lighting my world!
