Acupuncture Recap

ok well it wasn't really what i expected.

first she had me fill out some forms. then she asked me some questions and took my chinese pulse. she said i have a kidney chi defficiency or something. i'll be honest with you, i didn't understand 90% of what she said. half of that is that she had a really thick chinese accent and spoke very fast, the other half is that it was all jibberish talk to me. even if it was in clear english and slow i wouldn't have understood a word. i felt like i needed a beginner course in acupuncture to understand all this stuff. i just nodded my head. also i think she said something about my spleen something...

anyway she brought me into the exam room and told me to take off my socks and shoes. mind you i have never gotten this done before nor do i know ANYTHING about the process other than the needles and that its supposed to be painless.

she starts by putting these (big ass) needles into the top of my feet and my ankles. and guess what? it HURT! lol. well ok it didn't hurt that much. but its hard to explain. it was very unplesant lets say. ayyy... then she put like 6 needles in my lower abdomen (apron gut) and luckily i couldn't feel those. then she put  a heat lamp facing my lower abdomen. then she turned off the lights and said relax. then closed the door and left the room. relax?? are you kidding me? i'm afraid to move or breathe! lol. these needles in my feet make me nervous as hell and i am just a very nervous (i get anxiety attacks) worrying person by nature. i laid there for about 30 min trying to relax. i had to make a concious effort to relax. it was hard.

i thought i would feel relaxed or feel anything. but i didn't. i honestly don't know if it did anything. and meanwhile there are these posters on the wall of a naked man and all the points where they can put the needles and what it does (all in chinese of course) but there was this one part of the poster that had a view of a naked man from between his legs. so i saw his scrotum, his glory hole and there was a spot on his taint (sorry, graphic i know) where the needle would go. omg i wanted to laugh so hard that this was in my line of vision and that i would even see this at a doctor's office. lol.

then she came in and took out the needles. i was relieved. then we went to her office to talk. she told me that having to pee all the time, not getting pregnant, low sex drive were all related to the kidney chi defficiency. not to mention thats why i hold a lot of fluid in my stomach and that a benefit of this treatment would not only be easier to get pregnant, better sex drive, not have to pee all the time but also i should get a flatter tummy. umm...cha-ching! you had me at hello.

i asked her how many sessions she thought it would take (because its pricey). she said for some ppl it happens right away and for some it could take a month. so we'll see. honestly, not having the feeling that i always have to pee and having a sex drive are worth  it to me. the flatter tummy is a bonus. and of course getting pregnant would be awesome as well.

i'm going back again on monday. but i'm nervous about the foot needles. i don't like it :( sigh the things we do...

here' s the poster in question

LOL Meli! Your description of the poster is hilarious. You are a brave woman, thats all I've got to say. I hope it works for you... if it does I may be following in your footsteps. But no taint needles!

bahahaha i showed  my husband the pic and he's like...that was staring at you in the face huh? and i was like yup. lol. too funny.

i hope it works at some level. i can only afford to go 3 times. i have an apt on monday and then i'll be able to go one more time. not looking fwd to  the needles. but i hope something good comes of it. if not pregnancy then at least something positive and i won't feel like it was a waste.

but i will say this my other friend messaged me to tell me i should go to an acupuncturist bc her friend got pregnant TWICE from going there. first was a miscarriage but then she went again and got pregnant again. i was like wow thats 2 stories i've heard about acupuncture and pregnancy. so i'm hoping it works for me too.

yes my dear, you make a very good point. well taken.

its funny i was talking to my hubby about that. i know it gonna be intense crazy horrible pain when i give birth, however i think i prefer natural pain that is occuring in my body to needles and cutting. you know what i mean? that stuff just skeeves me out. i have no control over it.
