Just thought I would update you on my journey since we are due on the same day and we were wondering who would deliver first!!! I went for a check up this morning. doc said to get the car seat ready that I would not make it to my due date!! I am 1 cm and 50%. She sent me for an NST because my lil man is measuring in the 8th percentile, I have to go again on thurs for ANOTHER U/S!!!!!!!! I just had an U/S on the 8th of this month! Oh and she said baby Dakota has a nice round head so I am assuming that he has dropped!!! lol Hope you are doing well!!!!
Sounds like you had a great appointment! I had my appointment today and wont be checked until next week Tuesday. She did however feel my belly because I'm concerned my baby is still heads up as I'm carrying high. She said from what she felt, it feels like he's heads down. We will find out in 2 weeks when I go hopefully for my last U/S. We talked about the options if he's still heads up (which I'm praying he's not)....either schedule a c-section or schedule an appointment in the hospital to try to have him turned (which sounds painful as she said they give you an epidural....which I've never had and hope to never have). They turn the baby in the hospital because of the epidural and there's a possibilty by turning the baby it could send you into labor. I'm really hoping next week, my body is making changes and getting prepared to have this baby and then the following week we will find he's heads down and ready to go too!
Here's hoping your lil man turns!!!! Hope everything else is going well!!!! My doc said she herself wanted to do the U/S on thurs instead of just the u/s tech. she wants to look at lil man and his fluids. My hips and lower back have hurt like crazy ever since she checked me and I think I was having real contractions last night and not just BH. however, every time I was just about to get up and go to L&D they would subside! had a few today. they seem worse at night so we will see how tonight goes! lol
Wow, I hope for your sake your contractions are just BH at this point and time. The best thing to do if you question weather or not your having BH or real contractions are to drink lots of water and lay on your left side. If they don't subside or get better, than it's time to call the doc and probably head to L&D. I sure hope you hold on another 2 or more weeks when you reach a safe point for the baby to be born! Just keep in mind, you can be dilated to a 3-4 and be fully effaced for several days/weeks before you actually go into labor. With my daughter I went 9 days past my due date and was more than ready to have her much earlier. My midwife told me all I needed to do was sneeze and I'd go into labor because I was so ready.....but obviously my daughter was stubborn and had her own agenda.
