TTC list for 9/18/11

Happy Sunday to all the TTC ladies!
We have a couple new people to welcome: Carrie F. and Heather, and welcome back to Jana!

AF reared her ugly head for me on Wednesday. I am starting my second round of clomid 50mg today. I did ovulate last cycle, but didn't get pregnant. I'm still struggling with low progesterone levels despite the clomid.
I put in an application packet to see the only RE in town. Between my PCOS and previous ectopic pregnancy, I feel ready for some specialised attention. I was told they are currently booking appts in early December. I am patiently waiting for them to call and schedule with me. I am starting graduate school at the end of the month and have a 3 month window to get pregnant to time giving birth during summer vacation. I'm nuts, I know!

Some common terms:

TTC – trying to conceive
BFP - big fat positive (positive pregnancy test)
BFN – big fat negative (negative pregnancy test)
CD – the day of your menstrual cycle
O – ovulation
DPO – days past ovulation
LP – luteal phase (time from ovulation to period)
AF – aunt flow ( your period)
PG – pregnant/pregnancy
MC - misscarriage
RE – reproductive endocrinologist
OPK – ovulation prediction kit
CL – coverline ( for those taking their temps to confirm ovulation)
Met – metformin or glucophage ( a diabetes medication sometimes taken to help hormone levels and ovulation)
BD – baby dancing ( having timed intercourse)
DTD – doing the deed
IUI – inter uterine insemination
IVF – in vitro fertilization
PCOS – polycystic ovarian syndrome
POAS – pee on a stick (taking a pregnancy test)
2WW – two week wait…time from ovulation until you can test for pg

 i hate that good doctors are so booked so far in advance. its a bummer bc when you wanna see them you wanna see them right now. i hope something opens up for you!!!

Thanks Meli! Yeah, its hard to wait to see the RE... but at least I am trying clomid in the meantime. It helps because it makes it feel like not all is lost ;)
How is the acupuncture going?

 i haven't gone yet. i go one wednesday. i'll let you know how it goes!

I guess I'm in the TWW, I O'd between Friday and Saturday and we have been getting busy since this past Wednesday.... we'll see....  If no BFP by then, then I am glad that I have the appointment set up with the perinatologist on 9/27.

Ugg its my 2WW as well praying this is my month!!

Hey there. We are in the 2 ww period right now. I'm trying to not get to anxious over it. I didn't use an ovulation kit with this cycle because I know my body pretty well and could definitely tell I was ovulating. I have the period tracker on my iphone too.

How do you do on the clomid? I think I may ttc without it for a few months and see what happens. I know everyone is different but does it cause a lot of mood swing issues?  Great job on graduate school. That is an awesome achievement !

Ahhhh clomid. Well, tonight is my second night this cycle of taking that little pill, and I am increasingly irritated and paranoid. haha Irritated at everyone else in the world that is pregnant (a co-worker that announced today especially. This will be her 4th kid with the 3rd dad... she just got married and bam, OOPS! Sigh) and paranoid that I will never get my turn. It just goes back to all the months we tried previously and then the ectopic nightmare I went through in July.
So to answer your question, in my experience, clomid does play with emotions a bit. I'm trying to remain conscience of that fact now. :)

I am also in the terrible 2WW! I took a round of clomid, then had a trigger shot on Tuesday the 13th, did the BD all week...now we just wait. I don't know if I can take many more BFN! We have tried for 6 months with clomid alone, with no luck they added a trigger shot and are hopeful that this will work.
