I haven't been on the forums in forever it feels like, but being as my situation has changed from focusing on losing weight to managing it and not gaining a bunch during my newly discovered pregnancy I thought I would stop in and browse and see who else is experiencing this wonderous miracle.  I just found out on August 30th...BIG YAY!  However due to the life threatening DVT (blood clot) I had with my previous pregnancy almost 7 yrs ago I was and am a little worried about this pregnancy.
We had been trying since the end of May after having an IUD in for 6 yrs I thought it would've taken longer than it did to conceive.

I have been super hungry with a mixture of nausous almost all day and have to make myself eat.  I have been wondering it maybe if I took some Omeprizole that would take the edge off.

I haven't had my firt Dr's apt yet, not till the 22nd.so I am anxiously waiting that day and the day I find out what I a having.

I already have a 6 yr old son who is almost begging for a sister which is what we are hoping for.

This pregnancy was an answered prayer and I just wanted to share it with everyone!

I was a high risk pregnancy not due to my RNY but because of past miscarriages and also my son died at 26 weeks gestation back in 98. My OB gave me the okay to take Bonine, he said it was safe. I had severe nausea from week 6-14 of my pregnancy with our baby girl. I even lost 13 pounds in my 1st trimester because of it. I was even on progesterone supp. up until week 14 so I don't think he would have gave me the okay unless he felt that taking them was safe. I took the chewable kind, they worked quicker of course. I also used the sea sick wrist bands that helped apply pressure on your the pressure points on your wrists to keep nausea away. They helped a lot as well. You can get both Bonine and the wrist bands at CVS. Hope this helps and Congrats!

Congrats - hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy.  Make sure you talk to your dr - sooner rather later - re the previous DVT problems.  They might want to put you on blood thinners as a preventative measure.

ETA - That is, assuming you're  not already on blood thinners!  ; )
