I am 12 dpo and got a BFN this morning :( I'm bummed. I'm also bummed by this being 9/11 and feeling a heavy heart.

Some common terms:

TTC – trying to conceive
BFP - big fat positive (positive pregnancy test)
BFN – big fat negative (negative pregnancy test)
CD – the day of your menstrual cycle
O – ovulation
DPO – days past ovulation
LP – luteal phase (time from ovulation to period)
AF – aunt flow ( your period)
PG – pregnant/pregnancy
MC - misscarriage
RE – reproductive endocrinologist
OPK – ovulation prediction kit
CL – coverline ( for those taking their temps to confirm ovulation)
Met – metformin or glucophage ( a diabetes medication sometimes taken to help hormone levels and ovulation)
BD – baby dancing ( having timed intercourse)
DTD – doing the deed
IUI – inter uterine insemination
IVF – in vitro fertilization
PCOS – polycystic ovarian syndrome
POAS – pee on a stick (taking a pregnancy test)
2WW – two week wait…time from ovulation until you can test for pg

 ugh AF came today! wah wah. i knew it was coming. i think it helped that i kept telling myself that because i wasn't too upset about it. i expected it, thats not to say i didn't hold out a little hope. we can't help but do that. also with it being 9/11 i'm really emotional.

ps. i got the number for an acupuncturist who helped a friend get pregnant after trying for 2yrs with no luck. so i'm gonna call her this week. i know i've only been trying 2 months but i don't wanna waste anymore time! i'll let you know how it goes.

 well it looks like my insurance won't cover it. boooo :( but my husband says to find out how much it is anyway. if its not something ridiculous he'll let me do it.

This week is BD'ing time for us.  I did make an appointment with the perinatalogist on 9/27 to get some help...

perinataloigist, wow never even heard of that. what do they do exactly?

Basically the perinatalogist is a high-risk OB (takes care of the mom and the baby).  Because of my age (I'll be 40 in November), history of a couple of multiple abdominal surgeries, my regular OB wanted me to see the perinatalogist just to make sure I would be handled properly. 

 oh thats good! i'm g lad you'll be seeing a specialist in that area. good luc****ep us posted on what the perinatalogist says.

Baby dust to everyone!

I'm entering the 2WW...been DTD this weekend, so it's just 'wait and see.' Again.  Did POAS for the OPK and got two lines yesterday...but the 2nd line wasn't darker.  I'll keep POAS for a few days and see if one gets darker...and keep DTD until I head to the States 9/18 for a conference in Virginia...then we'll see!
