TTC list for 9/5/11

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I'm a day late with the TTC list... these long weekends get pretty busy! I went camping and had a great escape from reality. Now I'm back. haha
I'm one week into my first clomid 2WW. I've been feeling some pinching and cramping primarily on my left side which is where my remaining fallopian tube is. I am absolutely scared to death that I will have another ectopic pregnancy and lose my only remaining tube. Everyone keeps telling me to stop thinking like that, but its so hard! I don't think I will be able to stop thinking like that until I get pregnant again and have an ultrasound that shows baby is in the right place. Anyway, I think the clomid is making me a little more nutty than usual during the 2WW. I feel bad for my DH ;)

Some common terms:

TTC – trying to conceive
BFP - big fat positive (positive pregnancy test)
BFN – big fat negative (negative pregnancy test)
CD – the day of your menstrual cycle
O – ovulation
DPO – days past ovulation
LP – luteal phase (time from ovulation to period)
AF – aunt flow ( your period)
PG – pregnant/pregnancy
MC - misscarriage
RE – reproductive endocrinologist
OPK – ovulation prediction kit
CL – coverline ( for those taking their temps to confirm ovulation)
Met – metformin or glucophage ( a diabetes medication sometimes taken to help hormone levels and ovulation)
BD – baby dancing ( having timed intercourse)
DTD – doing the deed
IUI – inter uterine insemination
IVF – in vitro fertilization
PCOS – polycystic ovarian syndrome
POAS – pee on a stick (taking a pregnancy test)
2WW – two week wait…time from ovulation until you can test for pg

My ***** AF showed up early this month so, we are going to the perinatologist!  I think I need some extra help, since I have never been PG and I am almost 40!!!  I know that I was being *****y so, my husband kept on telling me that he was sorry that I got my period so I told him next time- just knock me up and we won't have this problem!

We actually are not TTC. We are waiting until next summer LOL! Connor is a blast but I would go nuts right now being pregnant and running after him. So we decided to wait. I forgot to update awhile ago.

 i guess i'm about a week in or almost a week into my 2ww but after last month i have to say i'm not optimistic about this month. i guess i got discouraged  after last month and i think as a defense mechanism i'm not gonna get my hopes up. i just started trying and i hear it takes months. so i'm just gonna keep aloof about it. i expect to get my period in a week and a half. 

i understand why you feel the way you do. i think when we prepare ourselves for the worst we are trying to protect ourselves. but try to stay positive!!!! you've paid your dues. i think you're good for now :) i wish you lots of luck and baby dust! you'll get your bfp soon enough. 

Thanks for the kind words Meli. I know what you mean about feeling discouraged as a denfence mechanism. I am also feeling that this cycle is a bust. It does take a few months for the average couple, but some people get pregnant right away... so you never know which kind of person you will be!

I go in for a progesterone blood test today because I am 7 days post ovulation. We are hoping that my progesterone will be higher this time because of the clomid. When I had the test on a natural cycle, it was just barely over the cut off line for ovulation. I'm nervous of course! Have a good day :)

Sorry Nikki this is my 1st time on for a couple of weeks. been very hectic and it doesnt help when TTC when EVERYONE else I know is getting pregnant, especially people who arent even trying. My husband's sister just announced that she is pregnant but she is looking to get an abortion b/c she just broke up with her bf and is very financially unstable. o_O

The doctor's office canceled the SIS on me :( the sonographer had a death in her family and there was not anyone else that could assist so I have to wait until this month. We are trying to hurry to be honest at this point since my insurance deductible does not roll over.

I wish you all the best of luck, it would be nice for us to all convert over this year :)
