I really don't have any cravings that much, but the things I love are snickers. Up until now I didn't even want chocolate but I love snickers. I just eat either a couple of mini's or the fun size so I don't get sick!!!!

i love hearing about all these cravings. but how do you keep it in check?? i mean, its hard enough to deny myself something now and i'm not even pregnant!

Honestly Meli, the way I keep it in check is that I don't really deny myself anything, but I keep the portions low. I am almost 3 years post op and still can't eat a ton (probably about 1 to 1.5 cups of food, less if it's protein). So that helps. I also have gotten to know my body and it tells me when to stop eating sugar. I can't really explain it, but I just know it's time to stop otherwise I'll dump...I don't always listen, but it does tell me. It's portion control for me. I have never been someone who can completely deny myself chocolate, cheese and other fattening things, but the surgery has really helped in that I just can't eat that much of it. I know it doesn't work that way for everyone, but that's how it works for me. I hope you get your BFP soon!!!

aww thank you :) so sweet. i like this way of thinking. i'm all about moderation. don't deny yourself but keep portions small. i'll just have to make sure i do that. this would be my first pregnancy and i'm determined not to go crazy and gain a bunch of weight. i wanna try to stay under 200lbs, i'm in the 160s now. i've never been good at denying myself cravings, but i usually find substitutions that are not as bad. lol. but pregnancy cravings are a whole diff story. lol. so we'll see. thanks for the feedback!

I crave an a Arby's roast beef sandwich with LOT of their sauce.  Can't get that here as we don't have Arby's in Austria... I think I'd have to fly over to Amsterdam...

Of things I can actually get.... frozen o.J. and watermelon... I don't know what I'm going to do when the watermelon is gone for the season!!!

I do "deny" myself - I refuse to cave to unhealthy cravings. Neither me nor baby will benefit from them, so I ignore them, and they eventually go away. So far, this has resulted in having fewer cravings in general (though I'm only in my first trimester still, so I know this may change later). If I caved to all my cravings, I'd be eating nothing but grilled cheese sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, pizza, etc., and I would be doing both baby and me a huge disservice (likely inviting my type 2 diabetes to make an encore appearance as gestational, getting bloated and gassy from the starchy carbs, etc.).

Sometimes, I try to find things to make that are similar that will help curb the craving in a healthier way. When I wanted grilled cheese, I fried up some queso blanco to use in place of bread and put some regular cheese and safflower mayo between two fried slices. It ended up being too salty (even though I used unsalted butter for frying and used reduced sodium cheese inside!), but it was just enough to curb the craving without any starchy carbs.
