Hey guys! I just wanted to say hi, I have been creeping for a while, and I am now ready to come out of the closet. LOL

So....I had VSG on March 10th, and completely accidently got pregnant 4 months out! It's been a bumpy first couple of months. But the baby is doing great, and mamma is coming to terms with the new life changes to come.

I am a single mom, just recently went thru a divroce and had sex once for the first time in a year, took the day after pill, and poof here I am! I am terrified to be the single mother for 2, especially only 2 years apart. It's also a struggle to see myself as a single mom of 2, I feel like I will be judged. But I am in college- finishing my degree, and am I AM going to be sucessful! Right?

Anyway- I am 10 weeks. Nauseas all the time. But, not throwing up. I am NOT getting all my protien in. Ya right... I can only handle certain things, and meat is evil right now. Any advise?

Also- any single moms out there that wanna give me a boost of confidence? I am feeling very insecure about this. It's so crazy that I ended up pregnant.

Peace and Love. Happy babies. :-)

The only thing I can comment on is the need to get in your protein, both for you and for your developing baby.  If you are not able to get it in with soilds go back to the shakes.  I hope that you're in a position to get the proper medical and nutritional advise as you move through your pregnancy.

I wish you the best of luck and wish I had anything of greater stubstance to offer you.  Please tell me you're holding the baby-daddy accountable for his involvement, it is not your situtation to bear alone.

No advice on being a single mom.  But, wanted to say welcome and try keeping up with protein drinks.....

My best friend in the states was a single mom of 2 and she had and will always have my utmost respect and admiration.  Don't worry about what anyone will think!  It'll all work out ok!!

Best wishes,
Linda

Luckily you have the sleeve, so at least you don't have to worry about absorbing nutrients.  I got pregnant at 6 months out (intentionally) and have had no issues at all (I'm 29 weeks).  Neither of my doctors have any sleeve related concerns with my pregnancy.  However, that being said, you didn't mention where you were with your weight loss (mine had slowed considerably by the time I got pregnant) or your labs.  Make sure you're taking your vitamins, eating carbs (ketosis is very dangerous for a developing baby), and getting plenty of protein and fluids.  If you still have pretty tight restriction adding a shake or two back to your day is probably a good idea.

As for the single mom thing, try to find support wherever you can, and when someone offers you help, take it!  I'm sure you can find a mom group in your area where you can share ideas/ concerns with other women who are going through the same things as you.  Being a single mom is not easy work (my sis is a single mom of two), but luckily in today's society it is very common so there are lots of resources available to you.  Right now, just focus on keeping you and your little bun healthy and try to enjoy your little blessing!

i am a single mom of 4. recently seperated when i got pregnant on april 15. yep, tax day, It is hard, but you will do fine! yes, you will be a success!! why? your biggest cheerleaders are your babies! =) just get a good support team in place, dont know about the baby daddy, maybe recruit someone from his family too. Dont be shy about taking your other child with you to the dr appt. i did with mine and even at 2 they get wide eyed when they hear the babys heartbeat or even see the baby on the US. mine are 11, 5, 4, and 8mos today. =)
