well with this being my first pregnancy I don't know what to expect and what is not usual!! But I am beginning to think nothing is normal during pregnancy!!!!!   I am 31 weeks and 2 days, I still don't have the bump!  People keep telling me  "well you don't look pregnant, are you sure?" YES!!!! anyways for the last few days I have had real bad back pains!! It seems worse after I eat!  I wonder if my Lil man is crowding my pouch!!??? Although I wouldn't think that would be it because they are thinking he is going to be on the small side it just seems odd that its my back hurting.............. while I am throwing stuff out there, here is one for you ladies to ponder on!! lol.  Me and the father of my lo are not married but we are dating.  His friends and family gave HIM a baby shower last weekend.  Of course I was invited and I went but there was no real reason for me to be there!! Everything was geared towards him.....and his best friend (considered more of a sister to him) took all the gifts home with her so she could write out the thank you notes! makes you wonder who is having this baby!!  lol  oh well I am not worried about it my sis is giving me a shower in a few weeks Yea! :)  Just thought I would give you all something to laugh about!!  Hope everyone is doing well on their own journeys!

Are the back pains up high?  Do you still have your gall bladder?  Sounds like it could be your gall bladder acting up if you have one yet.

As far as the gift things..yeah..that one is definately a new one I haven't heard of!!!!

good luck!!!

Could simply be a case of the baby being positioned more towards your back than your front.  This would explain the pain and the lack of a bump.  Even with a baby that is sticking waaay out and a tiny tummy, everything feels more crowded after eating.  As long as it is not sharp pains, I wouldn't worry too much.  Good luck!

for it to be your gall bladder you'll have pains on your right side behind/under your ribcage area, sharp, make you want to vomit pains and can resonate into your back but you will have the other pain with it. (had my gall bladder taken out emergency open surgery 3 weeks after my csection)...LOTSSS OF PAIN lol. Keep an eye on your back pain, sharp pains are not good usually, dull aches are usually normal with pregnancy. Soooo many things to wonder about lol

well after a full day of walking etc any pains can get worse, if it's after you eat then it coulddddd be the gall bladder...you'll find out after yougive birth if you dont have a gall bladder attack while your pregnant lol...i didnt have one attack while pregnant (had some before) then bam 3 weeks after i had a stone in my common bile duct....worst pain ever!!!

If it's not severe, sudden pain, I'd say it's probably not your gall bladder.  It could be, but I wouldn't think so.  My gb attacks started when my son was 3 weeks old...and they'd come on in a snap...ie DH's best friends lived across the street from us.  Once, he left to go watch a football (soccer) game w/them and the attack came on before he even made it to their place...I called them and left a message for him to come back and take DS b/c I was in so much pain I couldn'****ch him.  I had no idea what it was...I thought it was an after effect of giving birth...but it hurt like hell.  I just kept taking advil every 30 minutes until I fell asleep...then asked the dr when I saw him at about 4 weeks appt (after having about 3 attacks since I gave birth).  Had my gb out a week later.

Re the baby shower for your SO...I like that his family did that for him - and think it appropriate they focused the gifts towards him (presumably things like 'masculine' diaper bags or whatever?) but yeah...that's weird that the best friend would take the gifts home w/her and write the thank you notes.  Presumably if you're having his baby, you're relatively close (duh!)...as in maybe not married but obviously INVOLVED...and if he doesn't write the thank you notes himself...I'd have thunk you would've been the next logical choice...I mean...after all...it's YOUR baby too?!?!  And for her to take the stuff home w/her....um....doesn't it need to be w/the baby?  Couldn't she just have made a list of who gave what so she could write the notes based off of that?

Not saying I'd get pissed and get my panties in a knot...but sounds to me like the best friend's having a hard time accepting that it's not just her and her best friend and the baby...but that you're there in the picture too.  I'm not saying she's jealous in a girlfriend (or wanna be girlfriend) sort of way...but maybe she's jealous of the fact you're taking some of the attention of her best friend? and that's sort of her way of reminding you she's there?
