Hi Everyone!

Just need some words of encouragement....I am happily 12 weeks along and my husband and I couldnt be happier about the little munchkin!  However, Im VERY nervous about gaining enough weight to have a healthy baby.  My Surgeon is in on my prenatal team and they consider me high risk and I see them all very regularly.  :-) So Im doing everything I should be.  Im just so freaked out that I'm eating too much. Even though they say I need to eat more.   Did anyone else have this fear of overeating? and then gaining it all back again??

Thanks for any insight!

Yep, been there, and still living it. However, it's been something that I have been working through for the last several months. At 29 weeks pregnant, I've gained a solid 20lbs, and all of my doctors (2 different ob's, my surgeon and my PCM) are all elated.

I've stayed within the calories/carb/protein recommendation through the pregnancy.

Do I still fear not being able to lose it? Yes, but I'm in that "acceptance" stage. We all know it's inevitable to gain some weight during pregnancy, but I have found that I mainly struggle with the physical changes more  so than the numbers on the scale.

I bawled when I had to buy bigger panties. Seriously, bawled. It's been a struggle that I refuse to deny, and please do not let anyone tell you that it's ridiculous for you to feel this way. I have people throwing it up in my face all the time about "how lucky" I am to be pregnant. I get that, I am grateful, BUT none of that negates my feelings nor lessens my fear of regain.

Just follow your doctor's direction and recommendation, and enjoy the pregnancy. That's all I've been able to hold on to at this point.
