clothes?
I'm 13 weeks pregnant and not sure what to do. I have a LOT of extra skin and am built with a seperate upper and lower belly if that makes sense.
For work I wear jeans and polo shirts. I'm down to 1 pair of jeans that I keep on with a rubber band and about 3 shirts. My dh keeps yelling at me to go get more clothes but I don't know what to do. I bought a pair of maternity jeans but they don't fit right. The cut funny with my panni and constantly are falling off. I guess I could just keep getting bigger sizes as I need them but wondering if anyone is in the same or similar situation and what they figured out to do about it.
I've been eyeing those commercials for sweatpant jeans lol. I think they may be comfy and look enough like jeans they could pass at work.

Try very high wasted (they make them that go all the way to your bra line) light control panty and full panel maternity jeans then wear a maternity camisole (they sell them at target) over the top of those before you put your polo shirt on. That's a lot of layers in the AZ summer but it smooths things out nicely. I like the Barely There brand panties at Target.

Try the full panel kind if that's not what you got. The ones that are designed to sit under the belly aren't going to work. Old Navy has both kinds. Motherhood fit me really well but the quality sucked. In just a couple of washes, the waistband was coming apart. It could be that I just got a bad pair. Since you're in the Tucson area, check out Twice as Nice. I found lots of maternity clothes there, including lots from Motherhood. Then you can try their clothes without spending a fortune.

I TOTALLY hear you on the separate upper and lower belly - I have a big crease/fold in the middle, so my stomach has sort of a top half and bottom half as well. And the bottom half HANGS. Ugh.
I've not had to buy larger sizes yet, but I have been wearing elastic waisted pants most of the time. The fake knit jeans might actually be a good idea. Shop around - I've seen them in regular stores (Sears, maybe?). I fear maternity clothes with my big mis-shapen abdomen :( A friend of mine who had a baby recently did say, though, to buy maternity clothes and not just keep buying bigger sizes because the bigger sizes will be bigger all over, and you'll just look fat instead of pregnant :P

Yep sounds like we have similar tummys! It's really difficult! I will say that the lower stomach is why the maternity pants that I bought don't fit right. They cut into that lower stomach in a weird way (bc on other folks it would be below the bump). My friend told me that as well, but though she had wls too she didn't get the cut in half thing when she lost weight so she looked like a normal prego lady! Maybe we need to start our own brand of maternity clothes :)
Glad I saw this! My belly is the same way. I have LOTS of excess skin in my belly area and can't seem to find pants that fit right.

another thing that target has that i bought was a belly band. You can wear your current jeans but have then unbottoned and the belly band goes over the top of the jeans and your belly to keep them on and to hide the fact that they are open. my best friend swore by it with her pregnancy and only bought maternity shirts she wore the same jeans thru out her pregnancy as she did before being prego. i think its called a bella band if im not mistaken. youll see them when you go to target.
