today's ultrasound and long uterus?

well last week my endo told me to call if/when i got my period and they would set up an apt for right before ovulation to see if my eggs are ripening. and thats all he said. i figured he wrote a note in my file or something.

cut to monday, i get my period. womp womp. so i call on tuesday. they have no idea what i'm talking about and of course the doc is out of town this week. they say they'll talk to the nurse and call me back. they never did. i call back on wed saying the same thing, they still don't know what i'm talking about. finally i speak to the nurse and she tells me i have to come in for a comprehensive ultrasound at the begining of my cycle before i can come in got the mid cycle one. i guess for comparison. which confused the heck out of me at first. the thought of getting an internal ultrasound while i have my period seems wrong. so she tells me you have to come in first thing tomorrow.  so i went in today at 8am.

this lady is a ***** she's a ***** in the middle of an office of sweet ppl. which is so weird. its like she wakes up in a bad mood every day. she never smiles. she's short with everyone. ughh. when she put my info into the machine it brought up my last ultasound on the screen. lots of grey/white spots. cysts. i remember bc she mentioned how i have so many cysts and it made me cry last time. she started the ultasound and it hurt again. but then she said to hold up my apron gut (she said abdomen) and after that it was a lot more comfortable and not painful. whew! i was looking at the screen and it was really clear. i asked her if it looks diff from the last time and she says "i don't remember what it looked like last time". granted it was a year ago but my old ulrasound was just on the screen right before. sheesh. obviously this woman was not going to walk me through this explaining things. and she doesn't seem like she wants to answer questions.

but i'm paying close attention. it looks sooooo clear! no spots! i was sooo proud of my body!! :) i also noticed that she typed the words "long uterus". of course she didn't explain and i was afraid to ask. i wonder what thats about. i guess i'll ask the doc later.

in the end i asked her how everything looks and she said everything looks fine. i have a very small fibroid in my uterus but she says its not anything to worry about. so i walked out feeling great and very proud of my resiliant little body.

That's terrible that she treated you that way. You would think someone going into this particular field would be more sensitive. I had a visit with an RE years efore my surgery and the nurse had the audacity to ask me if I've ever tried losing weight. No lady I like weighing over 300 lbs...really? Anyway, I guess sensitivity isn't something that is required for this job.

So do you get to go in and talk to the doc when he's back? Can you ask him about the long uterus? I'm curious about that. I googled long uterus and it appears that it's not really a big deal, but I'd be curious to hear what the doc says.

Congrats on the lack of cysts! That's fantastic news!!!

oh my gosh if i had a dime for every time i heard that. its such a breathe of fresh air to go to dr. apts and not have my weight be the first thing they talk about.  i went years undiagnosed with pcos because they just blamed all my symptoms on being fat. ugh.

yeah next time i go in there i'm hopefully going to have a follow up with him. if not that visit then the next one. but i will for sure ask him about eveything. including the long uterus. i googled it too and like you said didn't really find anything alarming. just that some people might have a long utierus. lol. when i first saw it i was proud lol! like a guy with a big penis or something. hahahha. i figured hey the baby has more room to play. i  dunno. lol.

Hi!  Very Happy for you that the cysts cleared up!  The long uterus thing I don't think has impact on pregnancy... but I am not a RE, I'll be interested to know what he says.

I'm sorry the nurse is *****y... sounds like she needs to reconsider her profession!

Hope things continue to go well!!
