TTC list for 8/14/11
Happy Sunday to all the TTC ladies! I know that Jill got her BFP last week, WOOHOO!!!!! Are there any other BFP's that I missed?
I should be starting AF today... I've been cramping quite a bit. So, I'm just looking forward to it being over with because my doctor gave me the go ahead to try next cycle! I will be starting Clomid to aid in a nice strong ovulation and therefore give me higher progesterone levels. Also, since I only have one fallopian tube, the potential of releasing more than one egg is helpful. I am excited but really nervous. I am also supposed to schedule an HSG test (where they put a cathetor through the cervix and shoot dye through the tubes) to check my remaining tube and make sure it is clear. I am totally scared because I'm such a weenie. I've read that they hurt, especially if one of the tubes is blocked or missing like mine. So, I might put it off until next cycle... not sure yet. Has anyone had an HSG done before?
How is everyone else doing this week? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone! Maryn, I wish you much luck on your IVF adventure!

Nikki, you can take m off the list (Jill ~ TTC #1 since 6/10 off nuvaring) - apparently, the planets aligned during my very first cycle after stopping the ring!
Having only one fallopian tube increases the chances of releasing more than one egg? I'd never heard that - I only have one ovary and one tube as well.
Good luck with your next cycle! I've not had an HSG or known anyone who has, so I can't help you there.

I will gladly take you off the list Jill :)
No, having only one falopian tube gives me less of a chance of concieving each month. Thats why I will be starting clomid. The clomid will give me a better chance of releasing more than one egg so that hopefully my tube can catch one.
That is so awesome that you got pregnant so quickly with only one tube and one ovary! Do you mind saying why you only have one? I don't know many people in my shoes...

Having an HSG increases your chances of conceiving for three months after the procedure so I wouls run, not walk to your local Radiology Dept to get it done. Make sure that you tell both the Tech and the Radiologist who will be doing the procedure that you have a blocked tube, that way they can stop if it is too painful for you and let you rest until they try to push the contrast thru again.
Take motrin or tylenol (if you are able) about half an hour to an hour before you go in so that it takes the edge off the pain. Also I would say to practice deep breathing exercises so that you can do those when they are pushing the contrast thru your cervix. It helped me tremendously to do all these things and I've already had about three of these things done in the last 5 years. Good luck and let us know how it went!
Remember YOU CAN DO THIS!! ;-)

Today AF started... so I made the appt for my HSG for next Monday! Thanks to everyone who gave me some advice. I plan to take some advil before I go in. That and a xanax :) I am hoping and praying that my left tube is nice and open and will look forward to the potential boost in fertility that the HSG may bring!
