CONGRATS!!! I kept thinking that ALL of your symptoms are classic early preggers symptoms, I just can't believe that those tests did not turn positive with SO MUCH HCG in your system??? I know it's a silly question but were you using First Morning Unine? just wondering, because I'm about to head out to the Dollar store and stock up on their tests instead on the FR tests. I am soo happy for you!! Enjoy your really exciting weekend!! ;-)

The first FR test I did was not first morning urine, but the other two were. Of course, the first Dollar Tree test I did wasn't first morning, either...

I wrote FR a note through their website. The words "ridiculous," "pathetic excuse," and "laughable" may have come up...   :P

The sternly worded email to First Response isn't going to get you anywhere.  Somewhere in the fine print it tells you that it may not be accurate after a woman is 6 weeks pregnant.  What you experienced is called "hook effect."  You can google it.

Essentially your HCG was high enough that the test didn't know what to do with it (those tests are very sensitive, so basically gets overwhelmed).  The dollar tree tests are less sensitive, those no hook effect on them yet and the reason you could see a line.

If you take your urine and dilute it 10 parts water to 1 part urine,  you'll see your line on the First Response.

I don't expect to "get anywhere" with FR, except to feel better that I said my piece  :P

So, if you're like me with irregular cycles and have NO idea how far out you might be when you start exhibiting symptoms, you have no choice but to have a blood test?! Seems like a pretty ****ty means of home testing to me!

It happens.  Google it;)  So, you are better off sticking with cheaper less sensitive tests.  I think FRER markets itself and forms their product around the neurotic early testers, unfortunately.

I did Google it, and Google seems to think it's only a problem with HCG levels in excess of 100k, and that the chances of it happening are about 1 in 2000. Meh, whatever - I must be special  :P

In any case, I got the FR tests specifically because I thought I WAS testing super early (and not because I was being neurotic, but because I was having some symptoms) - I'd had a week of spotting in July and didn't know if THAT was technically my last period, and then I had a few more days of spotting again about a week and half after that one stopped, so I had NO idea I was so far along until I got the HCG level from the blood test. Irregularity is a *****! Well, I say that because I thought for 2 months I WAS irregular, but now I know i just conceived in the very FIRST cycle after taking out my ring.
