3 hour glucose test
So I tried doing the 3 hour glucose test this morning and ended up vomiting it all back out after 5 minutes... (I know TMI) and my OB doc wants me to try again. Any suggestions on getting thru with this test?? I had a VSG and I can't believe I also dumped half an hour later.
Also never had diabetes and now may have gestational diabetes!!.. ugh so frustrating...

I have a sleeve, and I simply refused to do the glucose test. Transit time, and the sheer fact that I rarely eat 75gr of sugar over the course of an entire day, I just didn't believe that the test results would be accurate.
My ob and I agreed that at-home glucose testing would be most accurate. I tested first thing in the morning, fasting, and then 3 times a day 2 hours after my 3 largest "meals". My results were perfect, and my levels remained normal the entire time. I never changed my food or beverage intake over that 2 week time period.

Listen to USAF wife - ask about an alternative means of testing. We post-op WLS patients don't typically take in that high amount of sugar at one time, so how can that possible be an accurate depiction of what our bodies are doing?
I was a type 2 diabetic prior to surgery; my PCP has deemed me "no longer diabetic." I will refuse the glucose tolerance test. I'm eating pretty low in carbs right now, so how would chugging 50-100g of pure sugar tell them anything about how my body behaves on a daily basis?
