oh Carbs how I love thee
My RNY pouch is small no more...at least for the time being...I swear I can eat, and eat....and eat some more. I will eat (still not anywhere near preWLS obviously)....and not even an hour later....my tummy is telling to eat or else (the or else is lots and lots of dry heaving). Carbs seem to be my friend as well.....more so settling to my tummy then protien. Eggs...no can do (total pregnancy thing)....Chicken...only if I want to hurl after the first bite.....
I still can NOT eat soft bread (nor do I want to), but I can eat pasta (in small toddler size amounts).....and my go to "thing"....strawberry poptarts. It's weird....sugar (medium amounts) makes me dump......but not my poptarts....lol....
When I first wake up in the morning...I nibble on a poptart (allows me to get out of bed with out horrible dry heaving morning sickness).
I feel like a kid in a candy store....I'm going to be in for such a rude awaking once baby gets here and it's back to protein, protein, protein.
Weight wise I'm doing good (I guess). I'm 10wks (exactly) and am down 4lbs.....I'm sure it will be more if I ever go......TMI ALERT....to the bathroom....I would have though the carbs would help keep the bowels moving...more so then all the protein.....

Do I EVER feel your pain about the issue of not going to the bathroom. White carbs TOTALLY will bind you up (pasta & pop tarts will for sure). But right now it's all that settles my stomach at 9 weeks pregnant so what do you do. Fibery things hurt. It's OK to take some stool softeners. I had this issue with my last pregnancy and wouldn't have survived without them!
Mommy to 2 of the most beauiful little girls in the whole universe and still in love with my hubby of 8 years. LIFE IS GOOD!
I'm 10 weeks pregnant and carbs are the only thing that keep the nausea and morning sickness away. I tried my protein in the AM but I am laid out on the couch all morning/afternoon if I start the day that way. I used to eat 20g of protien every morning.... now, not so much. I've probably had more carbs in these last few weeks than I have the last 14 months since surgery. IT SUCKS! I don't want to get into the habit of eating carbs, but at the same time I don't want to feel like I have to vomit all day!!!

I hear this a lot, and I feel like I'm the opposite (read: I'm abnormal!). I tried pizza last night, and it was a BAD idea. I had a breakfast sandwich on a bagel over the weekend - also a BAD idea. But a couple eggs scrambled with heavy cream and topped with cheese? Doesn't feel good going down (but little does), but then I feel better after eating it. Ditto for a turkey burger patty topped with sliced avocado and cheese - had one for dinner a couple nights ago and a second for breakfast the next morning, and I felt so NORMAL (no nausea at all) for hours afterwards.
The best snack I've found is Skippy natural peanut butter. It always seems to sit well. I eat it right out of the jar with a spoon (just a few spoonfuls at a time).
