Hi everyone!  I'm new to the pregnancy forum  :))  I am a little over a year out from VSG and 12 weeks pregnant (I got the ok from my doc before I tried to get pregnant - I just never expected it to happen so fast!!)  I tried so soon after because I'm 41 years old & not getting any younger!  Anyway, I've done well with losing my weight but now I'm having low blood sugars - 1.9 is common for me (that's 34.2 for the Americans  :) )  So I am eating every hour or two - I have gained 10 lbs already (at 12 weeks)  how are you all keeping your weight in check??? I am diabetic, btw, but I no longer take any meds for anything.  Any suggestions?
Thanks!!

First off, congrats on the pregnancy ! ! ! I'm about 27 weeks pregnant and have gained a solid 18-20lbs. The doctors are elated with my gain. Unfortunately, I have no info on the low blood sugars or rapid gain. I've gained most of my weigh in the last 3 months which was really shocking because I gained so slowly in the beginning. I hope someone can chime in with their experience.

Best wishes, and I hope your doctors can help with your blood sugar issues.

First off congratulations on your exciting news!!!! I was diagnosed with low blood sugar before I became pregnant, then once I got pregnant my issues with my blood sugar got worse. I will be 18 weeks tomorrow and I only have gained depending on the day between 8-10 lbs. I snack during the day if I have an appetite which has been my biggest issue, but especially when my sugar drops. What kinds of foods are you eating? When I was hospitalized at 7 weeks pregnanct due to my sugar the endocrinologist and nutrionist put me on a diet to limit my carbs to 30 grams of carbs per meal and snack. Now my endocrinologist has put me on Acarbose to help me absorb my food longer to maintain my sugar. If you don't have one already you may want to look at getting in with an endocrinologist to see what they can do to help you! If I can be of anymore help please let me know!!!! Good Luck!!!
