I want another baby!!!
you still mal absorb for quite some time after your surgery.... im 6 years out and i still have yet to put weight on with my pregnancy ( 32 weeks) .. baby is measuring small... this is my 3rd post op baby... my iron sucks... my b-12 dropped to "low" so quick it seemed over night... my point is.. just wait... whats the rush? better to wait and have a healthy baby and pregnancy then do something on impulse and screw it all up.... good luck
I had RNY and lost 130 lbs in the next 10 months post op. I had my 1 year checkup and my dr ok'ed me to get pg, because my weight loss had stopped after about 10 months. I had my IUD taken out at 11 months post op and ttc 2 months later and got pg the first time at 14 months post op! I did fine with the pregnancy and had a cute little baby boy the next spring! So I got pg before 18 months and I was ok. I think because my weight loss was so quick and then it slowed down and pretty much stopped at 10/11 mos, my dr ok'ed my getting pregnant at just after a year out of surgery. GL to you!
I think it all depends on you and your body. You need to discuss it with your surgeon. I had my RNY June 29th of last year and found out I was pregnant in feb of this year. My ob told me my labs were the best she had ever seen in a wls patient and I have already gained around 25 pounds with my lil man due Oct 25 and doing great so far. So don't let yourself get discouraged but you need to do what's best for you your potential lil one.
Well....I had my surgery 3 days after you and I'm currenly 10wks pregnant (not planned). I too am a slow loser (I'm also a lightweight....5'5 220 day of surgery). I lost 25lbs that first month, 10 the second month and then about 1lb a week on....for a grand total of 60lbs. I have not lost any weight since becoming pregnant, but have not gained any weight either. My labs are currently great (my parathyroid is off....was off before surgery though, but my calcium is/always was fine). My surgeon told me that what is dangerous is the ketosis part (when we eat high protein/low carbs) - usually during rapid weight loss.....well after month 2, I didn't have anything "rapid" happening. I was told by my surgeron that I need to make sure that I'm eating plenty of carbs (which I do), and as long as my labs are stable, I will be alright.
I think a lot of it has to deal with how healthy you are going into the pregnancy.....do you have good labs (going in with poor labs is just a recipe for disaster) , how is your weight loss (still rapid, stable, slow.....).....it's different for each person.
I would definitly talk to you surgeon and an OB first and go from there.

I got pregnant at 9 months out. I hit an early stall and hadnt lost for 4 months at that point. I can tell you this pregnancy (last of four) was worst on me. I passed out on regular basis, couldn't eat/drink enough to save my life. You need 100g of carbs everyday, at least 1500 calories, and 80oz of water. Good luck doing that on a fresh pouch! Can it be done? Yes. Is it fun? Nope. I was miserable.
It wasn't planned and I wouldn't take it back for the world. But if I knew the hell I would go through, I would have triple made sure to wait.
