want to get pregnant

I am well out from my surgery....

I got pregnant and had a miscarriage a week ago. I was very early in my pregnancy.  From what I understand it would have had nothing at all to do with my R n Y.

I have heard from others though that having R n Y a lot of ppl will miscarry with their first try.  Has anyone else heard this... ???

Just looking for some thoughts and answers.

Thanks

Nadine

i don't believe it has anything to do with your rny surgery. having a miscarriage is a random thing that can happen to anyone, some more than others. its our bodies way of shedding a bad pregnancy from the get go. its a hard thing to go thru i have been there, as i was told from my doctors at the time, when our bodies sense their is something wrong, whether its the chromosomes or anything it stops the pregnancy from going any farther and hopefully the next time you conceive everything will go smoothly...i wish the best for you!

Hi Nadine,

Sorry to hear about your loss, (having had 3 misscarriages I know how this feels, even when early, i hurts)  I agree with the other post, I have not read anything or heard anything about post RNY folks losing babies more often than others.  As a matter of fact, the medical journals say obese women are more likely than the general public... so....don't fear and try try again!!

Take prenatal vits before conception if you can.... get your vitamin levels checked and all that good stuff.  It will happen!!!

Best wishes,
Linda

I didn't have rny so I don't know much about that situation but I don't think it has anything to do with your m/c.
I miscarried in January and it was my first pregnancy. I was 12 weeks along. My doctor told me that it isn't anything I did wrong and is God's way of taking care of it for us.
I tried to blame myself for it like a lot of women do and went through depression for a couple of weeks. My wonderful OB told me on my followup appointment that I could start trying after my next cycle. But we haven't had much luck yet.
Give your body time to heal and your heart time to heal. Miscarriage is a very traumatic thing for us to go through.  If you don't have anyone to talk to about it you can always come here. This board is AWESOME!
Take care honey. It will get better I promise

thank you for all of your support and kind words.

we are going to try again as soon as we can.   i really didnt think that the loss had anything to do with the r n y... but someone suggested it might.

all of my vit levels are doing well.. nothing is low at all and i take all my vitamins as well as a pre-natal vitamin and my folic acid....  im going to continue to do so and im going to hope that we will get pregnant quickly again.  it took us two months this time..... and im hoping that have the same luck this time... and that this time it will be the will of a greater being that my baby doesnt leave this world.

Hi. So sorry to hear about your loss. I don't think the m/c has anything to do with your rny. I had 1 mc pre rny & I've had 2 post rny. They just happen. I also have 1 beautiful little girl (post rny) and am currently 7 weeks pregnant. I hope you are able to get pregnant again soon. Lots of baby dust your way!
