TTC list for the week of 7/31/11
Hi Ladies!
How has your week been? I was out of town all weekend for a wedding and just got home a little while ago, late on Sunday evening. I have work in the morning, after a surgical consult about my gallbladder. My HIDA scan last week showed it has to come out, which was not a surprise.
I do have very good news though... I started having symptoms of ovulation and took an OPK, and it was positive! I was so worried that my body wouldn't be able to find its way back on track after my loss. I am so thankful and very humbled by how amazing my body is.
I'm hoping we can start TTC next month.

Some common terms:
TTC – trying to conceive
BFP - big fat positive (positive pregnancy test)
BFN – big fat negative (negative pregnancy test)
CD – the day of your menstrual cycle
O – ovulation
DPO – days past ovulation
LP – luteal phase (time from ovulation to period)
AF – aunt flow ( your period)
PG – pregnant/pregnancy
MC - misscarriage
RE – reproductive endocrinologist
OPK – ovulation prediction kit
CL – coverline ( for those taking their temps to confirm ovulation)
Met – metformin or glucophage ( a diabetes medication sometimes taken to help hormone levels and ovulation)
BD – baby dancing ( having timed intercourse)
DTD – doing the deed
IUI – inter uterine insemination
IVF – in vitro fertilization
PCOS – polycystic ovarian syndrome
POAS – pee on a stick (taking a pregnancy test)
2WW – two week wait…time from ovulation until you can test for pg

Lapband 8/2007. Revised to VSG 10/2010.... 170 pounds lost!
For physical signs, the biggest and most obvious is increased egg white cervical mucus/fluid. Temping is another way of tracking ovulation...or using ovulation predicter (sp) kit...ie pee on a stick tests to check for ovulation.
There's an excellent - easy to read/understand book called 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility,' that will explain everything to you in a way that you'll sit and say 'Duh! NOW I know why that happened.' I'd highly recommend checking it out from the library or purchasing a copy of it.

I am waiting until Thursday to test!
I was told on another website/Soulcysters not to think about the symptoms as pregnancy signs! The one poster continued to say it is easier to look back and realize it was something else...Signs are Signs! WTF~ we all know that through this journey we learn all the ins and out of our body! I will step down from my soap box now~
I am staying positive!

Waiting for my cycle to start up again after the D&C. Then back to square one...again.
Going on vacation Friday, taking my son back to Indonesia to see his friends there for to weeks...maybe my cycle will start there so when I come home it'll be time to start tracking & getting ready to TTC again?
Any word when they're going to get your surgery scheduled so you'll be good to go next month?

I had my consult this morning and am having surgery tomorrow first thing at 7am! The surgeon happened to have a cancelation so I got it. I am glad because now I don't have to stew about it for long, but I am of course nervous. Hopefully it won't be too bad!
