So I have been thinking about cloth diapering for a bit but just wasn't sure I could do it since I live in an apartment and don't have my own washer and dryer but I think I might try it.  My poor baby is getting really bad rashes from the disposables.  I am just not sure where to start.  What kind should I get?  There are so many different ones, it's confusing.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

Here are some new pics of my little man!!

Don't know much about cloth diapers but Babies R Us seemed to have a big selection. I'd look it up on their webpage then google the brands to see reviews. Also I think The Bump.com would be more likely to have alot of cloth diaper users.

As for the rash: Are you sure it is the diapers and not the wipes? I would change to cotton balls and water or those really soft cotton paper towels and water and see if it helps.

Thank you.

I will try to change the way I wipe him and see if that helps.

Hey, we have used cloth diapers for 6 months since Sage was 9 months old and we love it.  I wouldn't get any Gerber or carters diapers like the ones from babies r us.  I would take a look at the website cottonbabies.com.  They have a few different kinds of cloth diapers.  There are the traditional prefold diapers, and you would need diaper covers for those, my fave prefold diapers are econobums.  They are cheap and work awesome.

Then there are pocket diapers which are my favorite, they are quick and easy and dry  relatively fast.  I love kawaii pockets, bum genius and fuzzibunz.

There are also all in one diapers, they are the closest to disposables, they come in one piece and you just throw the whole thing in the wash.

Here is a video I watched to help explain it more-  good luck!  www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/

Thank you! He is so different from how my daughter was. When I look at him, I can't believe I ever wanted him to you be a girl, lol. I wouldn't trade him for anything.

If you don't have your own washer and dryer, I would suggest good old flats or prefolds and covers, these are easier to wash and dry then some of the other diapers that require extra rinsese etc, you can also toss some bleach in with the diapers (not the covers!) if you feel they aren't getting clean enough. I put my diapers though one wash cycle and never have a problem with them getting clean enough

I like the flats from cottonbabies.com, but Greenmountain diapers has a nice selection to. For covers, I use econobum from cottonbabies, they are cheap, adjustable and great for tri-folding diapers in or thirsties Duo's.

CDing can be as complicated or as simple as you want it to be, you just need to find what works for you. Feel free to PM me with any questions, I only use CD's, we are going on 2 years without any disposables at all, ever!
