Vaginal birth after c-section AND WLS?

Hi all. I have never posted on this board before, but I've been wondering something... what is the general consensus about having a vaginal delivery after WLS? I know that it is possible to have a vaginal delivery after having had a c-section (I had a c-section with my son pre-WLS).

Of course these are things I will discuss with my midwife in a couple of years when I do decide to get pregnant, but I'm just curious what you all think.

Thanks!

WLS should have no affect on you delivering vaginally. As some women on here have posted in the past "My stomach has no influnce on my vagina" Or something along those lines. ^.^

ive had two vaginal deliveries after my wls and working on my 3rd... you shouldnt come into a problem there... you will however find an issue regarding the fact you had a previous c-section... not many drs will allow for a vbac

I just had a VABC with my son and it was amazing/very empowering/super quick recovery.
If anything, it was easier to have a vaginal birth after WLS because I was 130 lbs lighter than I was when I had my twins (via c section)

I will be having a VBAC, my midwife said it's safer since having the WLS.

There should be no problem at all.For myself I had a c-section and had to no matter what because in our county once a c-section always a c-section something to do with our county and safety issues.I tell you with my son went through labor before having a c-section and I'm all for them doesn't make the experience any less its still wonderful to see those little babies no matter how they come into the world.

Thanks for your replies. I am hoping to have a VBAC as well. I had a horrible time after my c-section and am hoping to avoid that again if I can. :)

My plan is to VBAC in....2 weeks (or less, hopefully!) after RNY and previous c-section. None of my docs or surgeon have concerns about my WLS factoring in...

Will let you know how it goes!

Yes! Please do... I am really hoping for a VBAC myself the second (and maybe third) time around ;)

Good luck!

I attempted a VBAC after WLS.  In the end I needed another c-section, but I'm glad I tried.  My midwives were not concerned about my WLS impacting birth.
