Dr. worried about low glucose levels

I started my GD glucometer testing yesterday.  I test 2x a day: one fasting and one after a meal. Yesterday and today tested 2 hrs after breakfast.  My fasting BS yesterday was 66 and after I ate it was 78.  Today, fasting was 71 and after breakfast was 65.  I'm to call the nurse and give them my numbers which I did today from the first 2 days.  I get a call from the OB asking if the numbers were correct and if my glucometer was calibrated.  I said yes to both.  Then she asked what I ate both days.  Yesterday was a lazy day and I didn't eat breakfast until 12pm and we went to a steakhouse.  I had 5oz of steak, half a salad 2 dinner rolls and 5 fries.  Today, I had egg whites, 3 slices of bacon, a biscuit, strawberries with cool whip.  She said to make sure I write down what I eat for the rest of the week when I test and bring it to my 28 week appt next week.

I really don't know why she is so worried, i told her I was hypoglycemic when I found out I was pregnant, but now she has me worried.  Anyone else have really low blood sugar during pregnancy? Is this a real serious concern?

I have very low blood sugar too. My sugar drops daily if I don't always have food in my system I pass out. After I eat my sugar will be in the 30's. I have to carry food with me and keep a coke around the house just incase I have an episode.

My sugar drops low to, I can test before I eat and it will be low and 2 hours after I eat it will be low. I was hypoglycemic before pregnancy but my pregnancy has made it alot worse. I am on Acarbose for my sugar and am working closely with a Endocrinologist, Maternal Fetal Specialist, and my OB to try to control it but i'm still having a hard time. It was a serious concern for me because I passed out and had a seizure at 7 weeks pregnant. I'm now out of wor****il I can either find another job or I have the baby because my job is so physically demanding and I can't eat all the time like i'm supposed to. The doctors have limited my carbs to 30 grams of carbs per meal as well and it doesn't seem to be working. Good Luck, if I can be of any help please feel free to hit me up!!!!!

I developed reactive hypoglycemia after having gastric bypass in February of 2008. I am now 22 weeks pregnant and it had gotten worse during the first few months of my pregnancy until I learned to control low blood sugar by eating properly.  I have to be diligent about eating the right foods at the right times.  For me, this means eating very low carbs until lunch. I have an EAS Carb Control protein shake on my way to work at 8 a.m. and Fage greek yogurt mixed with granola at 10 a.m. I then eat lunch no later than noon which usually consists of a veggie burger on whole wheat bread. As long as I start my day off with high protein, low carb foods, I am okay the rest of the day.  Do some research on reactive hypoglycemia also called alimentary hypoglycemia. Controlling your blood sugar from dropping rapidly is all in how one eats according to the research that I have done. I have a baby growing in my stomach and he is worth me doing everything possible to keep my blood sugar stable.
