End of 2nd Trimester OV and U/S update
I had my 25 week OV last week. Everything looks good, but initially the doctor was concerned with my weight gain. I gained 6lbs from my last visit. After looking me over from top to bottom, she assessed it's all belly. I have no swelling in my ankles, face or wrists and my clothes size hasn't changed. I've gain 18lbs so far this pregnancy. I'm sooooo tired it's not funny, but otherwise feeling fine.
I had my follow up growth U/S today. At my anatomy scan, she measured a little small. Today, we confirmed she's still a she , and she weighed 2.3lbs, which was right on target! I still have to go back in 4 weeks for another U/S to confirm she's still on track. She was VERY active and has finally turned head down. She was very comfortable in her breech position until 2 days ago.
Next week, I start my testing for G/D. Since I can't do the Glucola test again because it makes me too hypoglycemic, I have to test my blood sugar twice a day, every day for a week. If my levels look fine, I don't have to have further testing.
I can't believe I'm almost in the home stretch!

What a great visit ! ! ! I'm going through glucose testing at home because Tatum is weighing almost 3lbs already. I pretty much refused to the sugar test and opted to do the at-home testing even though I have the sleeve. My ob agreed with me that it's not a great test for those us with altered guts even without the rerouting component.
I have another growth scan on the 28th to see if she's still weighing heavy.
We should be deliver right around the same time! ! ! I am having a planned/scheduled c-section this time so I'm hoping we can keep her in there until I hit at least 39 weeks, they keep saying they're not sure I'll make it to 38weeks because of some other complications not related to my VSG.
Hope the glucose testing goes well, I absolutely hate it, but know that the other test just can't be trusted.
And, we've gained the same amount of weight! ! !

Sounds like a good visit! I also had an ultrasound on Monday, 1 day shy of 26 weeks and my baby is measuring a little small too at 1lb 11oz....they said 35 percentile, but everything else looked great! I go back in 6 weeks to recheck his size and everything else! I on the other hand, I have gained around 30lbs.....ugh.....luckly, it's slowing down and becoming more steady! And wow, your baby is heads down already....that seems early! Good luck with the blood sugar testing at home. I will be going in for a fasting test within the next week or 2!
My husband said the same thing about her being head down. He thinks she will get tired of all the blood rushing to her head. The perinatologist wasn't concerned and it's possible she may flip again before she gets here. I hope she stays in her current position because I really don't want to schedule a c-section unless I really have to.
