Its been so long I am like a newbie to OH.  Hello everyone.
I had  GBS surgery June 2003.  A whole 8 years ago.  Did well but have in the past 2 years gained  some back.  Got down to a size 10 and now in size 14.  Not too happy about that but I am still better off than the 22's I was wearing before WLS.  I am Happy to say I am pregnant with my first child and I look forward to the pregnancy journey.  My first prenantal visit will be at 6.5 weeks.  I am due March 10, 2012.   Any words of advice is welcome.

Hey there, I'm old school as well. Had my WLS 8 years ago as well. Lowerst weight was 130 (for like 10 minutes - it wasnt cute. I looked like a bobblehead doll.) and after 2 kids am now 160. My body seems to like to be around 150, so thats my goal.

Anyway, welcome, and congratulations!

Congrats!  Make sure to have your vitamin levels checked at least 3 times during your pregnancy.  I would suggest to watch what you eat and make smart choices whi*****ludes good carbs to prevent to much weight gain, but I myself have a hard time doing that.  However, they say we only need 300-400 extra calories while pregnant...so if you have more self control than I do, you can really watch what your eating.  I figure I will deal with loosing the weight after the baby is born as I know I can do it because I did it after my last one was born (found myself 20lbs heavier than my lowest pre-pregnancy weight and got strict with myself).  I'm over 7 years post-op and maintained my weight loss until after my last child.  Good luck to you!

Congrats and welcome back. See that's how I know time is going by fast because of the due dates in 2012. I am happy to see this is your first. I must admit I freaked out the whole 1st tri because I lost so much weight. However, the ladies on here are very helpful and helped me calm down. Baby is doing fine and growing well. She is a full 14 oz when we checked her growth on Friday!
