When.....
One thing I want to stress is bring lots of SNACKS !!!! I was starving and even though we let the hospital know I was an RNY'er that I needed food every hour or so because I could only eat a small amount.
Also I packed my own pads and brought my old granny panties, I felt better in my own clothes.
I also brought diapers that we wanted to use, a couple of reciving blankets and a large warm one,( my baby had trouble keeping warm so we used them all)
baby towel, wash and diaper cream. I packed one large bag for both of us.
Also having change for parking is a big one.
I would also check that the car seat fits and that you both know how to put it in and take it out.
Hope these help and good luck !!!!!

I had my bags packed by 35 weeks just in case. I didn't repeat what others suggested, but I will tell you what I packed. I packed my own shampoo, body wash, brush, etc. I was allowed to have a shower the next day and was so thankful I had my own items in that dept. Alot of people tell you not to pack pads because the hospital will provide them for you....however, after that first night the I used my own pads and again was grateful I had brought them!!! My friend suggested I bring nursing pads and I was glad I took those because my milk came in and I was leaking the day after delivery. Bring snacks....they are helpful. Another thing, I took two outfits for the going home outfit (depending on how big she was!), but I also took a couple of other outfits to put her in while in the hospital. That was just my preference. I liked that I took a gown for her to wear so that she wasn't just wearing the little t shirt they give them.....totally my choice, nothing wrong either way. Lastly, I did take a diaper bag for her and that's what I took home the free stuff in. You're getting close!!! Yay!!!!
