Scary Past Few Days
I went to my OB on Tuesday for my 2 wk post partum check up and told her that I had been having pain in my left leg that felt like a charley horse that just wouldn't go away...so she checked my leg and said it was swollen and I needed to go have an ultrasound to check for a DVT(Deep vein thrombosis or blood clot)...I had to leave Austin and my eight year old daughter with the nurses because I was by myself with them and couldn't take them with me for the ultrasound...the ultrasound was positive for a blood clot and I had to be admitted that day to the hospital...I was finally feeling back to normal after having Austin and then the baby blues and now I had to go back to the hospital which didn't make me happy and also scared the poop outta me since this has never happened before...I was put on blood thinners (shots twice a day and pills) and had to wait for my blood levels to rise to a theraputic level before I could go home which finally happened today...my leg still hurts like crap and I can barely get around but at least I'm home and can relax better...I go on Monday to an internal specialist who will put me on a blood thinner therapy that will last anywhere from 3-6 months...I just pray this doesn't happen to me again, that I don't have to see another hospital for a long time..scary stuff and I'm thankful I caught it in time!
Blood clots are scary! I had them after wls. I'm glad they found it early and are treating you! I bet its good to be home!

I'm glad you thought to mention the leg problem to the dr. The 'what could've happeneds' are scary. Feel better and follow the dr's orders. The injections will suck, but eventually you'll discover where the less sensitive spots on your stomach are and it'll get easier.

Chena,
I am still able to breastfeed..the blood thinner meds they gave me are safe to use while breastfeeding, and they also had me on lortabs for pain while in the hospital which is also listed as safe for breastfeeding, but it was making my baby so drowsy, I decided to just tough it out and only take tylenol for pain...I think the Lortabs were upsetting his tummy too cause he was spitting up which is not normal for him. I am currently breastfeeding and pumping :-)
