Tell me about healing post C Section...
Hi everyone....
I'm scheduled to have a C Section this coming Wed (July 6th) and while I have had a D & C, wisdom teeth extracted, my DD vaginally (induced) and the Lap RYN.... I have never had a C Section so basically I was wondering what the post healing C Section deal is like.
I had the Lap done about 6 yrs ago and remember how it was 'tough' to get up and down, sitting/standing and how sudden moves took awhile to get over. I remember pretty much sleeping on the couch with my legs in front of me, sort of reclined since we didn't have a recliner (don't have one now either).
Pain wasn't really too much of an issue because of the tube/pouch thing and moved at my own pace. While we (my daughter & I) live with my Mom, I concerned about making sure that James (baby about to arrive) and Brianna don't miss out too much with me. My boyfriend will also be around for awhile to help out so there is plenty of help. I know I will not be driving for about 2 wks afterwards & no work for about 8.
Any tips, etc. for the first couple weeks? I know I have to move around to get things going, get rid of gas, etc. I just don't know how well I will do with getting up to get him feed, changed, etc.
Help!

I was able to get up and move around by the time I got home. I got a script for percocet and ibuprofen to go home on. As long as i took it when the pain started I was ok. I was even sleeping on my belly by the end of the week. Took longer for me to do that with my Lap sleeve. It is much lower so doesn't get pulled on as much as the lap recovery sites. At least for me. It did ache if i sneezed or cough.. so try not to get sick (everyone around me is sick and I feel like crap coughing my head off now. Thankfully it has been a month.)
Getting the staples out on day 5 or so feels like getting your eyebrows plucked. Hope that helps.
