He's Here....long story!!!
I had an appointment on Wednesday the 29th and they wanted me to do a 24 hour urine test since my blood pressure had been going up. So I did it and turned it into the lab on Thursday. I got a call from my dr on Friday saying that the protein level was too high for her liking and that she wanted to induce me. Not what I wanted but all that matters is my baby so she told me she would call me back and see if they were going to do it that day or Saturday. She called back while I was in the shower and told my fiance that L&D was expecting me. So we packed up all the stuff and went to the hospital. They hooked me up to the monitors and checked me and I was about 50% and almost 2 cm. They decided that they were going to let my body try and do what it needed to and so we made the decision to not use any drugs to speed it along yet but they would use the balloon to help dialate me more. They put that in at about 1pm and it didn't fall out until 1am and I was 4-5 cm. Was having some contractions but not much. They checked me again at 6am and I was still the same to we decided that we would start pitocin (also not what I wanted since I had a back experience with it previously) but very slowly. Well my body apparently just doesn't go into labor on it's own and they had to use the max setting on the pitocen. My contractions got really bad and I was still only 7cm and was having extreme back labor and decided to get an epidural. He came to put it in really quickly and they laid me on my left side but I was still feeling the contractions in my back on the right side so they had me roll over to see if the medicine would start to kick in on the right side. As soon as I rolled over, I had the sudden urge to push and the nurse checked and his head was right there and I was completely dialated. So I went from 7cm to 10cm in about 30 min or so. The nurse didn't think that the doctor was going to make it in so she was getting ready to deliver him. But the doctor made it and I pushed for 17 minutes, 9 total pushes and he was out. I think the epidural caused me to relax just enough for his head to come down and dilate me the rest of the way but I still felt the whole "ring of fire," which I was not expecting. I tore a bit but other than that he and I are both fine. So here he is.
