It's Official....I am pregnant

I heard the heartbeat so I guess its official!

We were not trying to get pregnant...because I have heard 18 months after sleeve and I am only 15 months out. Plus I was told I couldnt get pregnant without fertility drugs. So we are in complete shock, but excited. I have some other contributing health issues so this will be a high risk pregnancy...so that scares me....plus I have 40 more pounds to lose to reach my goal. But I see this baby as a blessing and am trying to remain positive.

Ok after all my rambling my question is has anyone else had a healthy baby post VSG only 15 months out? I am about 9 weeks pregnant right now.

THanks so much :)

Congratulations and YES there are many VSG and WLS in general pregnancies that are wonderful healthy pregnancies.

Congrats! Sometimes life happens when we aren't expecting it! The ladies here have great advise and a lot have been in similar situations so you'll find lots of encouragement here! Take good care of yourself, take your vitamins and add pre atal and folic acid. Seding lots of prayers and thoughts your way for a healthy 9 months!

Well, I haven't had my baby yet, but I got pregnant only 6 months out from vsg and so far everything is going great.  I'm just over 1/2 way through my pregnancy (21 weeks).  Neither my OB or my surgeon have any vsg related concerns with my pregnancy.  I've gained weight pretty normally (about 8 or 9 lbs so far) and the baby is measuring just right.  All my vitamins look good and my pregnancy has been very uneventful so far (knock on wood).  Good luck, I'm sure you'll be just fine!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww YAY YAY Chickee ! ! ! You know my pregnancy and VSG story, and that myself and Miss Tatum are both thriving. VSG has not affected my pregnancy whatsoever, and only my other health issues have tossed me into the high risk group.
